Inter Gender Relationship During Adolescence example essay topic
Most adolescents would think that no one person has all of these qualities, so they lower their friendship standards. I, on the other hand, feel that it is how you interpret each quality that determines whether or not you would consider a person to have it. A couple examples of this are that I feel that considering a person to be always there for you does not mean they have to be around you 24/7, but they should at least be on call in your times of need. Also having a good sense of humor does not mean that a friend has to laugh at all of my jokes, but they can't be too serious. Also for me a friendship does not occur over night.
It takes time for each person to get to know one another and experience each other's individuality. I feel that if you jump into a friendship too quickly, then the smallest of infraction in your relationship may cause it to end. The most difficult type of friendships to have and fully understand during adolescence are inter-gender relationships. I feel that boy-girl relationships are not only complex, but emotionally straining as well.
For any adolescent this is peek for not only friendships, but also relationships as a whole. The problem occurs when the issue of love starts to associate itself with friendship, which for adolescents is still too difficult to understand and in most adolescent relationships will be what destroys it. Also being a male, I would know that the issue of sex, which is the ultimate goal for any male, enters our minds and becomes the soul foundation for even considering an inter-gender relationship during adolescence. In my opinion, the only part of humanity that has yet to evolve is the need for companionship. As far back as the prehistoric period, it is believed in most monotheistic religions that the soul reason for creating Eve was so that Adam would have companionship on earth.
Adolescents are no different. Their constant determination for companionship is what prepares them to enter today's real adult world. Many successful teenage friendships even continue well into the next life-stage, and I hope that mine will do the same..
