Interest Of Absolute Leaders example essay topic

772 words
The founding fathers developed a political system in which the interest of politicians is tied to the well being of the people. Such is the genius of the founding fathers and the reason why today, Americans enjoy the highest standard of living in the world. In countries where leaders run political systems in which their interest is not tied to the interest of the people, these countries become vehicles of self-interest. The country improves only when these leaders profit from the improvement. The country deteriorates if the deterioration serves the interest of absolute leaders. Thus in such a system, populations are held captive to the whims of absolute power.

There is no such thing as a benevolent dictator. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and men are naturally inclined to corruption when there are no checks on behavior. Incentives must be created to reward the right behavior from leaders. Man left to his own devices will seek selfish gain.

The founding fathers of the United States understood this concept and when put in a position of power they sought to develop a nation free of the evils of absolute power. The founding fathers escaped the absolute power of government and religion that was prevalent in Europe and never looked back. They sought forever to change the nature of politics, and the concept that certain people are born with the right to lead. The founding fathers laid down a system that when implemented correctly would have led to an excellent society internally and a country that is a fair and shining light on the global political scene. Unfortunately, the US political system which was intended to reward politicians that served the interest of all citizens has been hijacked by special interest groups who have learned to use the system to gain greater access to politicians than the average citizen. They have done this by collectively harnessing and focusing their energy and resources to influence leaders in America to push their interest.

In essence they have become like the dictator who pushes only for his interest and thus sees his interest above what is best for the nation as a whole. This flaw in the system has made the US susceptible to the pursuit of bad politics internationally. The founding fathers did not intend for America to have the international impact it has had on the global community. If the founding fathers were aware that America has used the political system they created to create a stealth empire, they would be turning in their graves. The founding fathers escaped from such empires. Sure the empires of old were more transparent in their intentions.

The stealth American empire has created an un parallel high standard for the people of America; because these are the people politicians are accountable too. A different standard has been created for the rest of the people in the world. To keep the citizens of America happy, the cost internationally has been very high. Bad dictators were encouraged and supported to keep gas prices at the American gas station low.

To keep Americans employed and the industrial machine well oiled, bad alliances were made with leaders who do not believe in the ideals of the founding fathers. Politicians in America did not care how these terrible leaders treated their citizens as long as they served America's interest. Thus, many societies in the world have moved backwards while the US has moved forward in leaps and bounds. This has created a vicious cycle resulting from self serving leaderships in many countries. The talented thinkers in those unfortunate countries escaped for a better life to countries like the United States when they should have been utilized to improve life in their own countries. The founding fathers of the United States of America created the most dynamic political system because it put the people first.

The system has been hijacked by stealth attackers that have put America in a position to create a stealth empire. Time will only tell what the true ramifications of this empire will be on the world. As long as Americans enjoy a great standard of living and do not look at how what they are receiving and achieving is affecting the rest of the world, this empire will continue to grow unchecked until the eventual collapse. Only the people of the United States can put a stop to this unchecked empire before it is too late.
