Islamic's And The Christian Faith example essay topic
This approach will not take away from your faith but rather will strengthen it and allow you to gain a perspective of someone else's ideas and beliefs. I have learned that the Jews, Islamic's, and the Christian faith all believe in the Ten Commandments from their separate books of faith. It is obvious that those of Islam learned this from having the blood connection with the Jew through the fatherhood of Abraham and of course the protestant accepts the first five books of the Bible just as outlined in the Torah or Koran. The Orthodox Jew stands true to the customs and practices of the past and adheres to passing on to the next generation without alteration those rituals that have been in effect for centuries. The Orthodox Jew uses the word for word prayers as a token of their strong adherence to their faith and practice with a strong emphasis on the participants use of the Hebrew language. The congregants also divide up in the Synagogue the men sitting together and the woven together in groups.
The Conservative Jew however, does not rule out changing their customs particularly when it comes to social consciences (manner of dress, attending movies, or things that other citizens do normally) but do adhere to their religious beliefs strongly without the word for word prayer (rote memory). Here the participants use Hebrew but use the language of their country as well. The Reform Jews came about during the 19th century and do not believe they are bound by the strict formalism of the Ten Commandments and accept the idea that they are members of the society to which they belong and primarily base their faith on honoring Their past traditions and faith practices. The Reform Jew is the one sect of Judaism that uses Hebrew the least. The Jews also celebrate the 25th day of December (Hanukkah) however for a different reason. The Jewish celebration is for the overthrow of the Syrians by the Maccabees during the 2nd century while the Christian church celebrates the same date for the birth of Jesus Christ.
Christianity is the belief in Jesus Christ the Son of God who came in the form of a real human being born of a virgin who died so that those who believe in Him should not die but have eternal life and this eternal life begins when one allows the death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be their Savior and not themselves. The two great denominations differ in their belief in the scriptures (the Bible). The Protestants believe the Bible as their final authority whereas the Catholic believes in the Pope to be the final authority on all divine revelation, which includes the Bible. The statement that Mary was without sin is not true for in the Bible as Jesus himself declares, "all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God". For Mary to have been sinless would mean to those who believe the Bible that Jesus was wrong which would be a lie and impossibility. There is also no basis to assume that Mary was different from any other Christian at her death in that she died and was buried and therefore, would still be in her grave rather than what the Catholic would have us to believe that she was somehow transported body and soul to heaven for this is not taught anywhere in the Bible, but rather "It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment".
Everyone will die and be buried according to the Bible except those who are alive and are caught up prior to the Great Tribulation period which occurs seven years prior to the 1000 year reign of Christ as taught by the Bible. Islam forbids idolatry, which is similar to Judaism and Christianity. Every Muslin who is sound in body is required to go to Mecca once in their lifetime. Islam followers also fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Followers of Islam believe Jesus was a prophet like Moses but not God himself. Within the Muslin faith there are two major groups one of which is the Sunni and the other Shiite. The first Sunni emphasize adherence to fundamentals-opposition to schisms and its intolerance of dissent. Also, they hold an allegiance to Allah without any human mediator. The Shiite believe in individual leaders and in particular to Husayn son of Ali and to the right of members of that family as head of their sect. It is the official religion of Iran and accounts for about 10% of the total Muslins in the world.
Their leader is also believed to be sinless. They also support temporary marriages unlike those that believe in Judaism or Christianity..
