The Differences between Canada and Italy Comparing Canada to Italy show's the many differences between the two countries. The population, the physical size of the countries, the age, climate, and the people in each country are just some of the aspects that show the differences between the two countries. Even though Canada is much larger then Italy in area size, Italy has almost double as many people then Canada. In fact, Italy is one of the most heavily populated countries in the world. Italy's population is about 57 million people, while Canada has over 30 million people. The reason that Italy has a greater population then Canada is because Italy was founded thousands of years ago.

Canada was only founded a couple hundred years ago. If you travel to some parts of Italy, you will notice that most of the buildings and structures are very old and ancient compared to Canada. Canada is more modernized with big skyscrapers and tall buildings reaching the sky. For example, Canada's main building attraction would have to be the C. N tower. As in Italy the main building attraction is the Tower of Pisa, which is much older then any buildings in Canada. The official language spoken in Italy is Italian.

Although many other languages like French and German are spoken. In Canada, the official language spoken is English and the second language spoken is French. One difference between these countries is Canada is a multicultural country, which allows you to keep your original heritage and culture. In Italy, you are considered an Italian and you are known as an Italian citizen. Canada does not have an official religion like Italy does. Italy's official religion is Roman Catholic, as in Canada, religion changes between each culture.

Italy and Canada's climates differentiate quite a bit. Italy has a typical Mediterranean climate with mild rainy winters and hot dry summers In Eastern Canada, the climate is not quite so favorable, the climate being cold and severe in the winter, the springs being late and the summers rather short. The climate is a bit milder in the Western end of Canada. Considering Canada gets cold winters, this could explain why Canada is one of the best countries in the world when it comes to the sport of hockey. Canada even has it's own hockey league called the CHL. The Canadian Hockey League is the world's largest hockey league.

The CHL consists of 3 leagues; the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League and the Western Hockey League. There are 54 teams in the CHL. In Italy, the most popular sport is soccer. Italy is ranked as one of the greatest teams in the world when it comes to soccer. Italy has it's own soccer league which consists of 45 teams. When it comes to soccer, Italy is known to have one of the greatest leagues in the world.

Canada is very different then many countries in the world because it is considered a multicultural country. This gives Canada an independent status around the world. As you can see, there are many differences that can be made between Canada and Italy, especially the climate, the geography and the people of these two countries.
