T he Campbell Chronicle of Virginia Reports and Editorial Earlier today there was a bloody battle Fought near Bull Run, a small stream About thirty miles southwest of Washington D.C. This battle marked the second battle Of Bull Run. This war was brought about due To the Norths failure to capture Richmond. Now the North planned to unite the armies of McClellan and Pope, to ambush the city. This Plan failed however because Popes army was held Back by Robert E. Lee of the Confederates. To Make matters worse then Stonewall Jackson Stumbled upon Pope from the opposite side.

Now Popes Army had no choice but to face Jacksons Army, with Bull Run to their rear. This battle On for two days. The outcome was Pope retreated North, the when joined by McClellan, and then Went back to Washington. After they had retreated Lee went on to invade Maryland.

The Ending result was a some confidence for the Confederates, and a Victory for the South. This battle Was very right, because it gave us Confederates the confidence we need, to get through this Civil War And come out on top. Before we were really down, because the North has all the advantages, and We are kind of the underdogs. We have brains though, and thats what keeps us going. Also we are Being led by one on the best Generals there is Robert. E. Lee, so we have a chance!! This battle was a good step towards the war, now we are ready for anything.

As a result of this battle the North are Most likely going to think twice before they come down here and try to manhandle us. Which works Out for us, because now we showed them we can fight, and that we are a challenge to them. So now We can strategically plan what to do next, and make our armies stronger. So when the north does Mak the mistake of coming down here again to fight, we will be ready, and we will prevail, and we We will come out on top, when everything is said and done, and the smoke has cleared, The Confederates will be victorious! !
