John F. Kennedy John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was born on my May 29, 1917. He was the second son of financier Joseph P. Kennedy. He was the ambassador to Great Britain during the administration of Roosevelt. He graduated from Harvard in 1940. He was a hero in the Navy.

In August 1943, as commander of the U.S. Navy torpedo boat PT-109 he rescued several crewmen after the boat was rammed by a Japanese destroyer of the Solomon Islands. JFK ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1946. Massachusetts voters elected him to the U.S. Senate in 1952. In 1953 he married Jacqueline Bouvier. He tried to run for vice president in 1956 but failed to be elected.

So he began to prepare for the presidential elections in 1660. Kennedy stated on of the most famous quotes of all time "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for you country". This is how he truly felt and it showed in his running. He was the youngest president ever to be elected and the first Roman Catholic. Kennedy OK'd an invasion of Cuba.

The invasion ended up being a total failure and resulted in personal embarrassment for the president. In the fall of 1962 rumors began to mount that a nuclear-armed soviet missiles were being set up in Cuba. In October, U.S. aerial reconnaissance confirmed that middle-range missiles were indeed being installed. This was the start of the Cuban missile crises. After two weeks and a U.S. blockade the missile crises ended. Russia agreed to disarm and remove the missiles from Cuba and we would remove ours from Turkey.

Kennedy was shot in the head while riding in an open limousine at 12: 30 pm on November 22. He was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he died.
