John Ramsey And Fleet White example essay topic
Burke was quiet and his sisterJonBenet was outgoing. She seemed to have it all including the attention of her parents, especially her mother. During the holidays especially and because it was getting close this birthday Burke was probably especially envious of his sister. She was gorgeous at age six and participated in beauty pageants and everyone seemed to love her. Burke was cast aside when she was born and he probably had been emotionally damaged ever since then.
He probably didn't intend to kill Jon Benet but out of great anger and jealousy it happened. My theory is that at around 10 p.m. on Christmas night Jon Benet and Burke we replaying together. For whatever reason they started to argue as all siblings do. Then things got out of hand and in a quick fit of rage Burke killed Jon Benet. He hit her in the back of the head with a flashlight and then wrapped the cord around her neck, strangling her. His mother and father rushed in and realized what had happened.
This family was very social and cared a lot about the image. They could not have people know that theirs on had murdered their daughter and then possibly lose their son too. This would be far too much pain for them to manage. This is when they made the decision to cover for him. They sent Burke to bed making sure he would go along with their story and he agreed. Then Patsy wrote a ransom note and while John moved Jon Benet's body to the basement where she would not be noticed right away.
He then tied her up to make it look like she was being restrained. They probably were originally going to move the body out of the house and ditch it somewhere but then realized if they left that tracks would be left behind since there was a light snow. After everything was all set and their story was straightened out and agreed upon they called 911. The reason why I think all of this is because there is no real signs of an intruder. There is a scuff mark by the basement window but it would be very hard for anyone to get through that window. Then there was the ransom note.
If someone was to leave a ransom note then they would normally take the person they were holding ransom with them. It didn't make sense that there was a ransom note and then the dead body in the house. Also, another strange thing about that note was that it said that Jon Benet would be " beheaded" if they told the police about the ransom or anyone else and that they were watching. Patsy immediately called the police and friends after reading the note, completely ignoring the warning. She obviously wasn't worried about this threat at all and the reason why is because she knew there wasn't one since she wrote the note. Also, handwriting analysts say the note easily could have been written by Patsy.
Not to mention that the paper and pen and a rough draft of the note were found in their home. If someone was in a rush when kidnapping a child they would have a pre-written note and not take the time to write more than one draft of a note. Another point to be made is that the amount asked for was the exact amount of John Ramsey's bonus that only his family and people from his company would know about. So either they were trying to make it look like it was someone from the company or they are just plain stupid. When the police arrived they noted a lot of strange things. Patsy was wearing the same thing as the night before which is very odd because she is a woman who is known to be very conscientious about the way she dresses.
Also, when Burke, who the Ramseys said slept through everything, was awakened and brought to a friends house he was not a tall surprised and didn't even question why there were police at his house. Also, after closely examining the 911 tape it is clear that Burke's voice is heard in the background but the Ramseys told police he was in bed at that time. When John Ramsey and Fleet White went to search for Jon Benet in the basement and John Ramsey picked her body up he did this purposely because he knew it would destroy evidence. No normal person would pick up their dead daughter and then put them down on another floor. Also, John Ramsey and Fleet White's relationship quickly deteriorated after Jon Benet's death.
Fleet White was known to have said to John that he hoped the next time he saw him was in a courtroom. Fleet White obviously knew of the Ramsey's involvement in Jon Benet's death. A strange thing about Jon Benet was that her wrists were found tied together. The unusual part of this though is that they were not tied tightly at all pretty much to serve no purpose. The degree of which they were tied was so loose that it would not restrain here.
This leads me to believe that the Ramseys tied her wrists together after her death to make it look like she was being restrained. Another interesting thing about the Ramseys is that they knew a lot of people in high places or had connections to them. Probably one of the most important of all these is Alex Hunter, the district attorney. Coincidentally it seemed that any valuable information or evidence that could help convict the Ramseys was quickly turned down by the DA. The Ramseys spent millions just to cover up their guilt by hiring publicists, private investigators, and lawyers.
No one who is innocent would do this. At first John and Patsy refused to be questioned separately. This is because they wanted to keep their story straight with one another and not show that it was a lie. Then they said they would only answer questions in writing. The reason why they asked for this is so that they could carefully plan their answers and avoid getting asked questions about the answers to the previous questions. Then they Ramseys declined to take a polygraph test.
Finally, they agreed when there was a polygrapher of their choosing (surprise, surprise). And of course their results showed that they were not deceiving anyone about the death in their daughter. One important fact which cannot be forgotten though is how the person who gave them this test also was the man who tested a man who claimed to be abducted by aliens and his test said he was telling the truth. The source obviously isn't reliable, especially since the Ramseys chose him. When Burke returned to school he returned with guards.
They watched him at all times. The reason for this is so that Burke did not leak any information. Because of his young age it was easy for him to say something accidentally and the Ramseys knew this. They seemed to have thought of everything. Also, when Burke was interviewed about his sister he said he was moving on with his life less than a month after the incident had taken place. I could probably go on and on forever looking for minute details that point fingers at no one else but the Ramseys.
Of course, I'm not going to do that because I don't really want to be forever. Basically the point is that it is extremely clear who committed this crime and how the events unfolded. The only reason why there was never a trail was due to the fact that the Ramseys knew people on the inside in every position which was beneficial to them. The Boulder district attorney especially, as well as many other investigators and participants in the investigation are very corrupt people who covered for the Ramseys and this sickens me..
