At the beginning Caesar defeats Pompey in war. The conspirators believe Caesar is getting to powerful and fear him because of it. So they group together and plot a plan to kill him. The conspirators got Brutus, Caesars friend, to help them. At the Senate on the Ides of March the conspirators stab Caesar one at a time.

After Caesar is dead Brutus convinces the people that it was for the best but then Antony, a loyal servant to Caesar, turns the people against the conspirators. Antony and Octovious go to war against Brutus and Cassius. Brutus and Cassius commit suicide. The reader is brought into the action because the story is so mesmerizing and gets the attention with all the action, with plots, conspirators, and mindless multitudes. Brutus plotted against and betrayed the one seemingly most important to him. Yet in his soliloquy he had to convince himself that it was what had to be done.

Brutus was asked to join the conspiracy by the senate to give it a noble appearance. The whole story was kind and deceiving people. The theme of the story brought the reader into it. Tension and suspense was brought into the story by how it was all planned out about the killing of Caesar and how the reader had to wait until the near end just to find out how it happened. The way Brutus turned on Caesar brought tension to the story and made you wonder if he would actually go through with it.

In the Senate as they all talk it makes you wait until they kill Caesar. I think the tension build up faster as you got more through the story. It wasnt vicious and everyone wasn't turning against each other at the beginning. First, Caesar dismissed Antony to wait outside of the senate council meeting, the day he was murdered. After the conspirators murdered Caesar, Antony enters to find Caesar dead at the hands of his friends... It was hard to think that he had to walk in to find his dear loyal friend lying on the floor covered i blood.

The conspirator's actions were treacherous. The ending was sad with Brutus and Cassius at war with Antony and Octovious were at war. The traders to Caesar ended up committing suicide.
