Ophelia, Ophelia: Queen of Denmark O, I've always dreamed of one day becoming the Queen of Denmark. Yes, you heard me right, the Queen of Denmark. It wasn't supposed to end up this way you know. I loved Hamlet, honestly, I did! I wanted to marry him, but he was weak. Plus, I was not about to lose my chance at becoming a princess.

That was my life long dream, and nothing was going to get in my way. Not even love. How naive everyone was. Don't ever underestimate the quiet ones!

Hamlet turned on me. I thought he was a strong man, who knew what he wanted from life. I was sadly mistaken. He was weak. Going crazy over the death of his father, please, get over it.

He's dead move on! I must say though, that is where my plan first started. While Hamlet was going crazy, trying to find out what happened to his father, King Hamlet Sr. I decided to take matters into my own hands. Like my father always said if you want something done right do it yourself. I had no idea what I was going to do, or how I was going to do it.

All I knew was that I wanted to be royalty and no one was going to stop me. One day while walking through the garden I heard a man screaming to himself. He was quite upset. I walked over to him to see what was the matter and much to my surprise I saw Horatio sitting there. I asked him what was wrong and why he was so upset. He said that he is sick of always having to walk in Hamlet's shadow.

No one ever gives him the credit he deserves. He was sick and tired of everyone always underestimating him. Ophelia, So we sat in the garden and talked. We talked almost all night and really got to know each other. He is such a great guy. Since he went and shared his anger with me I decided to share with him my dream of one day becoming the Princess.

He agreed with me and said how he always dreamed of one day becoming King. We both deserved this, and we were going to get our dream if it was the last thing we did. We said we were going to meet in the same spot the following night to work out a plan of how we could both become the King and Queen of Denmark. The following day while Hamlet was arguing with his mother about her being incestuous, and blah blah blah.

My father was eaves dropping behind the tapestry. Hamlet thought that it was his uncle and killed my father by accident. This was perfect. We decided that I was going to pretend like I was going crazy over the loss of my father, just as Hamlet was doing. The more confusion going on in the palace the better.

Horatio was going to mess with Hamlet's head and I was going to mess with my brothers. Then I was going to fake my own death. I would not be able to do it by myself, but with the help of Horatio we thought we would be able to pull it off. Besides Laertes was already upset with Hamlet for the death of my father.

I was all that he had left and if I were to go crazy and then commit suicide over a mistake Hamlet made he would kill him for sure. It was perfect. My father was out of the way, so he would not be able to become King. Hamlet was going to kill Claudius. I was not worried about my brother or the Queen.

I knew I could take care of them both. Our plan was no where near fool proof, we knew that. It just so happened that things ended up working out better than either of us had ever imagined. The following day Horatio went to the Queen and told her that I was acting mad. Ophelia, He asked her if she would speak with me and see if maybe she could help me with my madness.

The Queen was reluctant at first, who wouldn't be, but she came around. I walked into the room the Queen was sitting in, mumbling to myself. Every time that the Queen would ask me a question I would reply in a song. It went perfectly. Both her and the King believed that I was mad.

They had much pity for me and even asked Horatio if he would watch over me, to make sure that I did not do anything to harm myself. It was going perfectly. Later on that day I did the same thing that I had done to the King and Queen, only this time it was in front of my brother. I felt so bad. I could see it in his eyes how much my madness was killing him. I mean come on I do have a conscious.

It is just that I do not believe we should let anything get in the way of our dreams. Before I interrupted them with my nonsense, I over heard the King telling my brother about how it was all Hamlet's fault and that he should get some sort of revenge. I couldn't believe how well things were going. Horatio and I thought that since everything was going even better than we had ever imagined that it was time for me to fake my death and hide out in Paris. No one would ever suspect that we were really plotting to take over King and Queen ship. Horatio paid off the artist of the house to make us a duplicate of my body that we could pass off as myself.

He told him that I needed to get away from all of the madness that was going on here and that I had some friends in Paris that would take care of me. We have been friends for quite a while, so he agreed. He told Horatio that was the least he could do and that if we needed anything else to just ask. Can you believe it? Not one thing was going wrong. We believed that it had to be fate, the Gods would not let Ophelia, something like this continue if it was not meant to happen.

That night I departed for France. Horatio would take care of it from here and write me when it was safe for my return. My funeral went perfectly. Everyone believed that it was really me who was lying there, even my own brother.

After my funeral, Laertes was so full of rage that he challenged Hamlet to a dual. Just as I had expected. Hamlet was no push over, Horatio and I both knew that. Their was no way that he was going to turn down a challenge.

He had way to much pride for that. The dual went better than we had ever suspected. Instead of Claudius and Hamlet being the only ones out of the way. The incestuous Queen and my over bearing brother were killed during the process.

If you ask me they both had it coming to them. Can you believe what Hamlet's last request was? He actually asked Horatio to make Prince Fortinbras, the King of Denmark too. What a jerk!

Fortinbras, are enemy for decades the next King, over Horatio? There was no way we were going to let that happen. The following day Horatio sent for my return. When I arrived it was a huge upset, even bigger than Gertrude's marriage to Claudius. I loved every second of it.

Horatio immediately announced Hamlet's last request for him to be king, and our engagement. There is a great lesson to learn in all of this, you know. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't accomplish your dreams. Because, as you can clearly see, anything is possible.

You just have to have a little ambition and never let anyone get in your way.
