Kingship Of King Charles And Claim Joan example essay topic
She was born in 1412 to a family of seven. While working in the fields of her village, she was called Jeannette, but later on when she discovered her mission, she was then called Joan, the Maid. Joan herself looked up to a role model of her own, her mother. She taught her all she learned to know of her domestic skills as well as her religion. Again, it was solely her mother who had taught her how to pray, how to sew and how to serve others. Prayer was an important part of Joan's life.
The impression she gained from her friends and playmates was that she was overly pious but this did not discourage her from sharing her faith at that very early and tender age. Ever since her earliest years, Joan was well known for her obedience towards her parents. Never was there a time where she would disobey or disrespect her parents. Nothing was displayed but love for them.
Religious fervor, selfless generosity and undying kindness were among the many traits attached to the character of Joan. Friends were treated like family as seen in a case where she took care of a friend and nursed him back to health. Her identity was coupled with the goodness of her person. A real turning point in her life happened at about the age of thirteen.
Dreams and visions repeatedly occurred as saints told her to raise up the siege of Orleans and free the land of the English. She began her mission for God and was able to do so. King Charles was crowned in France just a few months after she began her campaign. Her king and friends later on abandoned her for reasons that were unknown to her.
The English the wanted to discredit the kingship of King Charles and claim Joan to be a witch and a heretic by using Bishop Cau chon who was staunchest of the religious figures to the English. Joan was imprisoned, condemned and finally burnt at steak in 1431. Never did she renounce her faith. She died that day but her faith lived on. People of today should look up to Saint Joan of Arc. We are able to learn many values from her life and apply them to our own lives.
The women of today most especially should pursue a life that may be of likeness to that of Joan, one of true meaning and service to others. For the youth, characteristics of respect and obedience to your parents are those that should be carried. For everyone, the appropriate attributes of a person who has a well-lived life are there to pursue. Though she may not have a direct impact in any of our lives today, she very well embodies what may affect us to grow effectively in our spiritual and relational lives. The world would truly be a better place with more people who look up to her and strive to be like her.
