This man is known as Adolf Hitler. The Early Years Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th 1889 in the fairly small town of Braunau-am-Inn, Austria near the Austro-German border. Living right near the border was convenient for Adolf and his family because his Father worked as a customs officer at the border. Growing up, Adolf had a sister that would eventually outlive him, and two sisters and a brother, which would all die at a very young age.
Hitler began school at the age of six. He was not a very successful student, however. Because school never came easy for him he left before retaining his diploma to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. At the age of fifteen, Adolf's father died. Between the ages of sixteen and nineteen, the young Adolf was not schooled and never worked. However, he began to develop a love for politics and history.
However he would not lose his ambition to become an artist. He then applied for the Vienna Institute for Fine Arts. Much to his despair, he was rejected. When he was nineteen, his mother died leaving him with no able relatives to support him. He was on his own. In 1909, he moved to Vienna in search of work.
He was unsuccessful, and eventually found himself living out of soup kitchens and homeless shelters. His painting sales were not enough to survive off of. Poor, he moved to German Army. He became a decorated soldier in WWI.
Politics Adolf, with his interest in the political sciences, became involved with German politics. Word got out about Hitler's speeches that impressed many people of high authority. One of the people was Anion Drexler, the founder of the Socialist German Workers Party, who encouraged Hitler to the committee. In 1919, after some thought, he joined and became the committee's seventh official member. With the committee, he gave a series of speeches to massive rowdy helping to promote the 25-Programme. The Programme was the basis of ideas by which the S GWP, now known as the Nazi Party, was based.
Even though he was not the main speaker, he would soon have his time. He soon became leader of the Nazi party and formed his own army of thugs. He then proclaimed the swastika to be the symbol of his party. A short time after he was arrested for account of treason. He used this as a positive opportunity and utilized the court case as an opportunity to gain free publicity for himself and his party. While in prison, he wrote a book called Mein Kampf or My Struggle.
After being released, he managed to greatly increase the number of members of his Nazi Party. In 1929, the stock market crash hit Germany hard. After the current president struggled, but did very little, many Germans turned to Hitler's promising ideas for a better tomorrow. The Nazi Reign During the next election, the Nazi party received 6.4 million votes. He had become a strong competitor for the role of President. Soon, as expected, the Nazis became the largest party.
After forcing the resigning of the new government, the President finally decided to appoint Hitler to the position of Chancellor. In Marc of 1933, after a large struggle, total control over the government was passed to the Nazi Party. Thus Hitler proclaimed that there would be no other parties besides the Nazi Party. The Nazis proceeded to take control of everything from big business to the ever-powerful military. Hitler had begun his Nazi fication of Germany.
He proceeded with his brainwashing of the German people. The Nazis had everything censored. Even religions had to go by the Nazi doctrine. His original small army of thugs is now known as the Gestapo.
They are now a monstrous ordinance of Hitler's brutal secret police. He was secretly defying the Treaty of Versailles to build his colossal military along with an immense artillery of weaponry. He and his party had an idea of a perfect blond-haired blue-eyed race. They also despised anyone with beliefs contrary to that of his party.
The Gestapo enforced these ideas with an iron fist. The prejudice against Jews in particular was large part of the Nazi ideals. The time known as the Holocaust was the horrific torture and slaughter of all Jewish in Europe. He continued to gain more ground in his quest to rule everything. He formed an alliance with Italy and Japan.
This became known as the Axis Powers. They continued the bloody battles against the European countries; persecuting, torturing, and slaughtering innocent people on a whim. However, Adolf had not factored in the strength of the United States and the threat they d be. After, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the U.S. proclaimed war on the Axis Powers. The U.S., along with the Allies, fought fiercely against the Axis. D-Day, the beginning of the liberation of France, became a large victory for the Allies.
After the Allies invaded Germany in 1945, Hitler realized the Nazis were on the decline. Knowing this, on April 30, 1945, he committed suicide, thus ending the horrific Nazi reign. Hitler grew up as a fairly normal child. He enjoyed many things about life. A rejection from an art academy led him to pursue a political career with a hunger for power. I believe the hardships he suffered growing up led him to be the symbol of evil he is today.
He was horrible man with no sense of moral values. He used his powers for nothing but bad and is recognized for his horrible acts of injustice.
