Numerology is the study of numbers used to predicting future happenings, judge of one's character, or attempting to acquire connections with the occult. Based on a simple number, and alphabet, system, Numerology is probably one of the easiest arts of the occult to use and understand. Predating back to ancient times, Numerology could very well be traced all the way back to the history of mankind. It was used in ancient Greece, Egypt, and the Roman Empire with many books presenting reference to the art (i.e. Holy Bible, Hebrew Kaba la, and The Egyptian Ritual of the Dead).

Many Egyptian priests and Greek philosophers engaged in the study and understanding of Numerology throughout the centuries. Even Moses was taught Numerology from an Egyptian priest who later conveyed it to the Hebrews. Although Egyptians played an enormous role in the production of Numerology, some credit must go to Pythagoras during mid-sixth century B.C. who founded the Pythagorean System, the most commonly used Numerology system today. Pythagoras's ystem goes along with our alphabet of today in a basic method of cycles from one through nine. One being the letter 'A' and nine being the letter 'I'; then continued till the end of the alphabet. He believed that the life force for everything around us revolves around these nine numbers.

Thus, our birth date, address, and even our name can be translated through Numerology. Each number defines different characteristics, mainly from our birth date and age. A rough cut of what each number represents is as followed: There are two sets of numbers in which Numerology is shown on. There are the primary numbers which are one through nine and there are the master numbers which are eleven and twenty-two. All numbers above number nine are able to be reduced by simply adding the numbers together. For example if you have the number twenty-five, all you would need to do is add two and five together to get your primary.

In this case, your primary would be seven. A rough cut of what each number represents is as followed: 1 - Independence, originality, self 2 - Consideration, empathy, co-dependence, over-sensitivity 3 - Sociable, wastefulness, superficial 4 - Repression, loyal, artistic expressions 5 - Freedom, abuse of senses, travel 6 - Jealousy, love, meddling, understanding 7 - Suppression, fault-finding, spirituality, wisdom 8 - Power, management, unscrupulous 9 - Humanitarianism, emotional, artistic genius, romance 11 - Idealism, insensitivity, invention, intuition 22 - Practical idealism, get-rich-quick schemes, viciousness As numbers go, there are several types of numbers associated with Numerology that deal specifically with the occult. One of the most known numbers of the occult is 666 and is referred to as the Beast Number. This number is associated in the Holy Bible as the Antichrist and its origins are not clear but do happen to show up in many mathematical equations.

Such as squaring the first seven prime numbers and then adding them together will give you 666. It also shows up on a Roulette Wheel when summing up all the numbers on it. Apocalyptic, Apocalypse, and Leviathan numbers are also part of the occult the show 666, but in a slightly different way. Any number using the method of 2 to the nth power containing the beast number is known as an Apocalyptic number (i.e. 2 to the 157th power). Other powers are those such as 157,192,218, and 220 just to name a few. A number having a total of 666 numbers is said to be an Apocalypse number.

F 3184, a Fibonacci number, is an Apocalypse number. And last, the number 10 to the 666th power is known as the Leviathan number. Numerology today is much more of a 'game's ome one could access on either their computer at home or read in a book in a library. It seems to be used all over the world today compared to the past when high priests were the only individuals studying it. Our every day lives and situations are constrained to and defined by these primary, master, and occult numbers. To some, Numerology is an art going against religious beliefs and to others it is a tool to understanding themselves.

Mathematicians, Philosophers, and Astrologists both work with Numerology to find some meaning in these numbers and have come up with a fairly reasonable conclusion; but that all depends on an individual's state of mind.
