Do Not Go Gentle Into the Night This poem is written on a very person level. There are feelings that are expressed throughout this poem. This paper will show how the writer classified people and the deep feelings for his own father. In the first stanza Thomas is the speaker watching his father suffer. While noticing the first and third line in this poem, the reader is able to feel the intense feeling that Tomas feels for his father. Both of these lines are very powerful with feeling and emotion that the writer is feeling.

He is telling his father not to go gentle to put up a fight. The middle line is actual the truth regarding age and death. We all grow old we all must die. In stanza two through five Thomas is refers to men differently. He states that wise men know giving in is the right thing to do. Stating how the wise man light is longer surrounded by their word.

Thomas feels we need this light to stay on this earth. He then classifies the Good man as if they are looking at the world in a bright light. He states about the deeds from the past that they are now seeing. Thomas believes the good men in fighting to see the light and are ready to go. Wild men run to catch the light. Never realizing that this is the last time they well see the light.

The wild men just give up. Grave men are happy and may or may not see the light. Thomas expresses that this is the most happiest death that there could be. They are unable to understand that it is death, so it becomes easier. In the last stanza Thomas describes his father not like the rest of the dyeing men. Almost like is father is too good to die.

Thomas is angry with himself for not wanting his father to go even though he is suffering. He is begging his father not to go to fight death.
