Level Of Hell example essay topic
While walking through the village one day I came upon an break in my path. Fiery steam and flames raged out of the crack swallowing anyone who came near. I guess I had gotten too close. The next thing I knew I was in a place a sin and corruption. Waking from my fall through the earth, I found myself at a crossroad.
In the middle of the crossroad was a sign reading, "All who have read this sign have been damned and will find their place here in hell". Here is where I met my companion for my journey, Vivian. A split image of my great grandmother who had taken this journey years before me. Choosing which fork in the road to take wasn't easy. When I saw a bright light at the top of a mountain, I decided to work my way toward it. Little did I know it would be a longer journey than I thought.
There came many stair cases on my journey but none lead toward the top of the mountain. They all were leading downward, deeper into the depths of Hell. Down the first level of steps I came upon Daniel who was lost in life and had made some bad decisions of which he couldn't really help. He was swimming in a great lake of winding tides.
He rose far enough above the tides to speak, but resisted my aid as I reached down to him, almost pulling me into the sea with him. 'I cannot leave this place,' he said in a heartrending voice of acquiescence to guilt and punishment. 'We have all created this suffering, of our own will and weakness, and so until we can escape on our own, we can accept no one's aid. You can not help us. ' Seeing a look of quiet desperation in his eyes, a mirror of my own sins, and recognizing the likelihood of meeting a similar fate, I asked him what he and his compatriots must do to redeem themselves. "We shall redeem ourselves by finding our way through the confusion that is of our fate.
We have been lost for years and can only find our way ourselves", he answered. A chill came over my body as I realized that I too may find myself in those tides. I left that place and proceeded further down the path. Next we came across a door.
After opening the door all I could hear is millions of voices. I could hear them, but where were they coming from? Continuing to walk through the room I ran into an old friend. Christopher, who was very closed-minded and judgmental.
He was damned to a room where he would hear all the judgmental things he had said to others through-out his life. Every racial slur that had come out of his mouth would haunt him for the rest of his existence here in hell, which would be for eternity. The voices would eventually drive him to insanity. I was quickly pulled out of the room by Vivian while she closed the door behind me. For she didn't want me to get stuck in that room. I would have rather spent eternity in the sea instead of the room of voices.
Our journey continued, this time the trip to the next level lasted a lot longer. When we arrived it made sense why it had taken so much longer this time. We ended up in a darker and more fearful place. The other two levels were of little sins but we were now in a darker place where it would be harder for those to be redeemed. We finally reach what I believed was the last level of this Hell.
This was a very dark place. Never again would I want to visit there again. Vivian pointed out a lady who was tied up to a dark tree, then pointed out the little demons running around her ankles. As we got closer to the lady the blood on her ankles became more noticeable. I couldn't help by to want to untie her. The little demons were eating her legs, flesh and bone.
I began to try to untie the tree branches from her body but it was useless. I couldn't help her. The lady never once looked at me or Vivian. I found this very strange. It was as if she couldn't even see us.
The tears were streaming out of her eyes and she screamed in pain. She looked out into the distance in the same direction the whole time we were there. When I turned to see what she was looking at, I found a little child staring back at us. I spoke out to the little child and it began to run at me.
As the child got closer it began to look more and more like the little demons running around the lady's legs. The child spoke out, "It is useless to try to help her". There was so much anger in the child's voice. "What has she done that damned her to such punishments?" I asked. This child ran off without answering me. He was still in site though, at a distance staring back at us again.
I was confused at what I should do. I couldn't leave the woman to be eaten by the demons, but the child said I couldn't help her. What was I to do? And then the child ran back up to me.
He looked angrier than before when he looked at me, then looked over at Vivian. She knew what was going on and he hinted at her to tell me. "This is her child", Vivian told me. "She watched as her child was killed and didn't do a thing about it, but rather helped her boyfriend out as the man held him under the water until every gasp of air left his body. She was damned to hell with punishment of being tortured while the only one who she could see and that could help her was this child who she had taken life away from."Yes this is true", the child mumbled. "She was suppose to protect me from harm as her role of being a mother.
Rather she gave up my life for her own selfish interests. But I am not really her child, don't worry, for I am only an image of him. The little boy is in heaven for he is innocent and pure". This level of hell consisted of several sins. For the first couple of levels were of sins that weren't very big but this last level was for all those who committed big sins. None of them were of any less extreme than the others.
One can not put the sins in order according to the degree of evil doing. For they all were equally wrong. Each sinner was receiving punishments which, some how, were symbolic to the sins they had committed. Some punishments were gruesome and cruel while others were just very physically agonizing. Across the dark forest I could see a bright ladder. We made our way over to it to find that the ladder made its way up the mountain to the bright light I had seen awhile back.
A sign was posted next to the ladder reading "For those who have been redeemed, this is the ladder to your eternity. Anyone who tries to take the ladder before their redeemed are guaranteed to be damned for the rest of their eternity in Hell". We started to make our way up the ladder. As we reached the top I looked back.
Hell was a place I never wanted to go back to. It was such a dark place. As I made my way closer to the light a door appeared. Vivian was no longer around to guide me so I made my way through the door alone.
The next thing I knew I was standing back on the street where I had once fallen through the pavement. The fiery steam and flames disappeared and everything seemed to be like I had remembered it. That night I had a dream. My mission came back several times in the few hours I was able to rest. I was not to calm Hell, but rather tell people of my journey and hope it sets them straight. From that day I found my faith and live my life teaching others of this Hell.
Never once did I see this Satan I've been told of. For there is not really a Satan at all. People blame evil on Satan but rather evil comes from human. We made up Satan as an excuse for our evil doing. I teach people how to face their wrong doings so they can be redeemed so they won't have to face eternity in Hell.
All evil can be prevented, a life lesson everyone should learn.
