Liars Anne With Her Wonderbra example essay topic
Anne came out after a few minutes to model the bra which made her feel the most womanly and I read the tag: 'Guaranteed to add one whole cup size!' Indeed, it did. I gave Anne the nod of approval, and having solved her boob problem, Anne was ready for her date. Generally, people assume men are the biggest liars. This depends on what you consider 'lying'. If you consider trying to convince others that you are not who you appear to be, lying, then women are definitely the biggest liars. We, in a way, live lies.
Any woman who has any sort of physical flaw, most likely, has a way to conceal or disguise it. We have high heels, Wonderbras, girdles, make up of all sorts, fake nails, fake tans, hair extensions- the list goes on and on! And you might point out, though, that this line of deceit has begun to spread out to men. Men can have fake tans, liposuction, plastic surgery, penis implants and other methods of physical 'improvement'. I find myself wondering why men are called liars, and women are called 'deceivers'. Perhaps this is because a lie, in the classic sense of the word, means to say something that isn't true.
Isn't that what one learns while growing up? In accuracy, a lie means "something that misleads or deceives". I that case, I should say that many things that women do are lies, and many of us are just plain liars. Of course, many of these pressures for us to look perfect are put on us by the media.
Everyday little girls, teens, and women young and old, are bombarded with images of what the perfect female is supposed to look like- its only natural for us to try to emulate that fictitious ideal! In a perfect world, girls would be raised to love their natural selves- little breasts, big breasts, small hips, no hips, brown hair, no hair- they'd accept it all. This however, is a far from perfect world, and until the end of time, there will be standards for how we should look. In the end, we " re all liars- Anne with her Wonderbra, the man that tells his girlfriend that he was a Joe's house when he wasn't, and the media that projects deceitful images.
However, we shouldn't categorize lies in an order due to what our society deems acceptable- a lie is a lie is a lie..
