Love With Juliet Romeo example essay topic
Despite the formidable obstacles they must overcome, their intense love survives because they do not just give up on their love. Prior to seeing Juliet, Romeo had intense feelings for Rosaline. These feelings were not felt by Rosaline though, so nothing came out of it. These lines are spoken by Friar Lawrence who is referring to Romeo as a waverer.?
Thy love did read by rote, that could not spell. / But come, young waverer, come, go with me.? (2.3. 95-96). He does not seem to know what he wants or who he loves. Romeo is depressed and is shutting himself off from the world because love is not working out for him. Before Juliet attends the party at her father?'s, she is being arranged to marry Paris.
This is against her will though, she does not love this man at all. Juliet has never been in a relationship before, so this is a new experience for her. Lady Capulet, Capulet, the nurse, and others thought that she is being ridiculous. They think that she is stubborn and foolish for not wanting to marry Paris.
Her father gets very upset when he hears Juliet will not and does not want to marry Paris as he expresses to her. Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch: I tell thee what: get the church o? Thursday, Or never after look me in the face. Speak not; reply not; do not answer me. Capulet is saying that Juliet better be there and marry Paris or he will disown her. If she does not show up, she should never talk to or look him in the face again.
But Juliet, and Romeo, both feel that they have found the right one. They feel like they have found heaven. Romeo thinks that Juliet is perfect. He sees her as being everything that he has ever wanted. Romeo loves Juliet and could not imagine life without her. Romeo even says that he would rather die then live without Juliet.?
Ha banishment? Be merciful, say? death? , / For exile hath more terror in his look, / much more then death. Do not say? banishment?? Romeo doesn? t want to be banished, he is asking Friar Lawrence to let die instead.
But he ends up being banished and not being put to death. Romeo knows that Juliet is his love and is a beautiful young girl that loves him back. O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I? ll no longer be a Capulet.
Here is proof that Juliet is in love with Romeo. She wants him to only be sworn to her and to lover her the way that she loves him. It is because she returns his love that Romeo has overcome so much just to see and be with Juliet. He has had to sneak away several times from his family to spend time with her. But even greater than that, he has to decide to give up his family in order to be with Juliet. He knew that when people found out and they got caught, his family would disown him, but to him it was worth it to be with her.
That night on the balcony, Juliet sees what a wonderful person Romeo is and realizes how much she loves him. She sees that this is her way out. Her way to not marry Paris, to marry who she loves. She is amazed that he is there and that he would go through all this trouble and danger just to see her.
It is at this point when she realizes that the love is mutual and can not be thrown away. The nurse and Friar Lawrence see how in love with Juliet Romeo is. They think that the two getting married would bring peace to the two families. The nurse is always trying to comfort Juliet and excepts that her and Romeo and in love. Hie to your chamber. I? ll find Romeo To comfort you.
I wot well where he is. Hark you, your Romeo will be here at night. I? ll to him. He is hid at Lawrence? cell.
These words are spoken by the nurse, she is trying to help Juliet by bringing Romeo to her in her time of great sorrow. Romeo sees this marriage as a perfect thing. He now knows that Juliet loves him back and it is not like the Rosaline situation. Both the nurse and Friar Lawrence see that Juliet is also in love with Romeo.
The friar and the nurse do all that they can to help these young ones in their love. You can see this in the following words coming from Friar Lawrence.? Come, come with me, and we will make short work, / For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone / Till Holy Church incorporate two in one.? Hear Friar Lawrence is telling them to come with him and we will marry them.
This is a tremendous risk for the friar to take, but will do it anyway for Romeo and Juliet. They both, Romeo and Juliet, believe that they have found their perfect match, the one that they want to spend the rest of their lives with. Will this intense love last? Both Romeo and Juliet know that it will not because of their families but wish that it would. The hatred between these two families is overwhelming and becomes a formidable task they must overcome. This will greatly effect the two families, the outcome will be devastating to them!
