Lower Back Pain example essay topic
And change the way I walk (toe first). And never when I get older to wear high heels or any other shoes besides tennis shoes with support or else I will be in a wheelchair when I get a little older. Of course my dad probably never mentioned to the doctor the rough motorcycle rides and how hard he would spank me with his hand and belt on my butt, most of the time targeting my lower back because I would move around when spanked. Not a light spanking, but really, really hard and of course grabbing my arms really really hard. This happened from 1-11 years old pretty consistently. My stepmom started making me clean the house a lot and scrubbing floors, bathtubs, etc. and my back at such a young age wasn't feeling great.
My dad made me move every year in grade school, and I was constantly lifting heavy objects, boxes, packing, etc. at a very young age as well. My parents separated and my mom and I started having problems because of my "attitude" and she wanted to hit me as well, but with her, I was able to sit behind the door of my room and block her from coming in. because she wasn't as strong as my dad. I had to use a lot of back strength to keep her or one of her friends she would get from coming in and the door would be broken and pushing against me really hard and pounding against my back. I'm surprised my back didn't break. When I was in the about 12, I was doing a lot of running and my lower back was always in constant pain. The doctor said no more running, back to the feet supports, and now a back brace as well.
My mom didn't want to buy insurance or pay for any therapy, so I had to just deal with it. When I was 13, I slipped in the rain and fell right on my lower back on the concrete and felt something loose, and couldn't walk all day. I previously a year before that made the same accident on the kitchen floor and fell on my lower back, this being twice now. Lots of broken capillaries. The pain in my lower back was so bad, I started pounding all the time on my lower back with my fist. When I turned 14 my uncles pounded my head against the wall several times and that was the first time I experienced any neck pain.
I didn't know to go to the doctor for an MRI but my head was swollen and my aunt put ice. I don't think there was much blood but I did get my head pounded against the wall over and over hard enough to where I was very dizzy and headaches. When I turned 16, my lower back was hurting so bad that my mom finally took me to a chiropractor, he took x-rays of me and my mom and said my lower back pain is probably hereditary because of my mom although she had no pain, he saw some disc similarities. We never told him about everything from the past because he might call social services. My mom still didn't pay for me to get therapy, just adjustments and my boyfriend was always massaging my lower back and my sister. When I was 17, my boyfriend pushed me and I went flying back onto concrete and my head split slightly.
Blood everywhere, paramedics came. I heard my head vibrate and I was in a slight coma. I had 17 stitches. My neck was in a brace, I could not move it. I had to sit up to sleep for at least a week and could not ride in a car, I couldn't do anything. I finally got treated with adjustments and massage because a lawyer was going to sue his HOA.
I believe after a lot of therapy, the pain all subsided. And no more lower back pain because they put electric pads to kill the nerve I guess. I got an MRI but I don't remember what problems it stated. At 18, I was rear ended and that's when my neck and arms got in really bad shape. I thought a bomb went off, I went into shock and I remember great pains in my arms From 18-20 on and off I would go to get therapy but for the most part I seemed to have gotten better, and quit therapy even though I was advised not too, because it might feel better now but if I quit therapy it will come back later on. I didn't listen and...
At 21, (I have been snowboarding for 4 years now) and I think my last fall was the breaker. I fell really hard on my butt on a really hard piece of ice and I couldn't get up and had to be carried back, I had a really ugly bruise. I think this is what made my tailbone, cocci x move to the left and effected my perimorph is muscle and thus, pulled on my sciatic nerve. I started to hear bones in my glut e or cartiledge move around like crackling and went to the doctor but they didn't take any x-rays just gave me pain killers and to come back if I start to really experience some pain. 22-I couldn't sleep, my neck hurt to bad and arms, I started paying acupuncture people, massage men, because the doctor would just give me painkillers and I couldn't function the next day at school.
The neck and arms started getting better to where I could sleep and not take painkillers. 23- My hip (left) started to hurt all the time and static nerve. I was just about to finish school thank god, but the problem got really bad after school. It got worse.
I tried to go to physical therapy but the doctor wouldn't give them a prescription for my lower back and he kept telling me nothing is diagnosed as wrong with me (obviously he was a medical doctor, not specializing in back and sport injury pain). I didn't get physical therapy and boy did horrible things happen months later.
