Blessed Be CASTING A CIRCLE Casting a circle before a spell is an important ritual.

This mental and physical preparation helps you to be focused and will have a positive effect on your magic. To thi send, before casting, make sure you are unlikely to be disturbed and if necessary give the room a quick tidy, to minimise chaotic influences. Next lay out the tools and ingredients needed on the altar. This should lie from east to west, allowing you to face north.

Directions may be determined with a compass. Hold your wand out from your body, pointing northwards. Visualise a white light emanating from your wand and walk slowly in a clockwise direction. Facing north, trace a pentacle in the air with your wand. Do the same to the east, south and west.
