The Meaning of Success Most people do not find their careers fulfilling or meaningful. Today more and more people are dissatisfied with this situation. You may not be aware of exactly what it is, but it will emerge as life goes on. Once you find this passion or mission, success will fallow.

It is not easy to find or create work that truly satisfies the soul. Living your life purpose leads to joy and deep satisfaction. I see life purpose as a contribution to the world that gives your life passion, fulfillment, and meaning through dedication to something larger than yourself. The Love Your Job article says something so true, "It's unfortunate that most people don't love their jobs, since we spend half of our waking hours at work.

You need to love your job!" AVERAGE COLLEGE GRADUATE SALARY Throughout college a student thinks and dreams of a career. We declare our major based on what we "think" would be fun, what pays a lot of money, what we think would be interesting. In the months upon a college graduation, the student begins to think seriously about a career. Some people have jobs to start right after graduation, and some have to begin the job search. This is a time when people start defining themselves by their careers.

People ask what you do, you immediately respond with a job title. This is what it means to define yourself by your job. There is an abundance amount of pressure placed on the college graduate. Everyone wants to be successful in their careers. Your peers will talk about how much everyone is making. You will begin to compare yourself to others and think you " re not making enough or your peer is not making enough.

All these thoughts are normal but the real question, are you finding meaning and purpose in what you are doing? Are you living your life's purpose? Once you find your life's purpose the next step is connecting this purpose into you career and being committed to whatever that life purpose is. Take responsibility for managing your own career. No one else will. Avoid the trap of getting caught up in the expectations of others.

Finding your mission and life's purpose comes easily to some, and to others, it is difficult and takes more time to find. I have been having a hard time finding my life purpose. In the past 10 months have been working on discovering my mission. The first step in finding your purpose is discovering your core virtue. Finding your core virtue is a process to determine what you love and have a passion for. Everyone has a core virtue, and there are many ways to discover it.

You have to think about makes you happy in life, what makes you angry, what makes you sad. This process is digging deep inside and coming up with a reason why you are here on earth. Another step in finding your purpose in life is through the process of elimination. You never know what you don't like or like until you experience it. If you decide to take a certain job, and five months later realize this is not what you were set out to do, you need to make a change. In the article titled, Do You like Your Job says that, "A "this isn't it feeling" about your job is an indication that the general fit you have within your organization may be off.

If your unease about your job has persisted for a year, you probably need to take action now". If you never had that experience you would have never known you didn't like that specific career. From my research I understand that is crucial to gain knowledge in order to discover your purpose. Once you find your core virtue and make the decision to be committed to what ever it is you will find success.

People have different views of the meaning of success. There are many different aspect when is comes to success. You can be successful on a monetary basis; you can also be successful on a more personal fulfillment level. Being completely successful is having both these aspects of success. In the Article, "Do You Still like Your Job" states that, "if you like doing something, you " re going to give it your best effort".

So many individuals accept and turn away from a job based on the salary. People choose to accept a job that they have no interest doing, because of the amount they will get paid. The problem with this choice is that these people can only go so far. If you are employed in a job that you are not enjoying and it is not satisfying, you will never go as far as you wish to go. On the other spectrum if you accept a job that you love doing but the pay is not great, you will eventually be very successful because you love it and you are good at it. When you are practicing something you love you will have the drive and motivation that will allow you to succeed at the highest level.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do, you will be successful. We all need to find meaning in life. If you ignore this need, it can lead to restlessness, boredom, or depression.

Have a dream and do something that you love. Build sandcastles in the sky. Their foundations will fallow. Select something you love, something that you value. Study it. Live it.

Work at it. Work harder at it than you have ever worked before. Immerse yourself totally in it. In that immersion you will find happiness and contentment in a life truly well lived.

I will close with a few thoughts about the more traditional meaning of success and failure, and their relative unimportance. I have found that what matters most is to have a dream, to do something that you believe in and to love it passionately. Do not fear failure. Do not crave success.

If you ask for financial reward for what you do, for peer approval or even for thanks from others, then you are asking to be paid for what you should be giving freely as an act of love. The true reward is not in the result, it is in the process, not in the achievement but in the achieving. With the power of love transform your dreams into action. If you do what you love, professionally and in every other way, happiness and success will fallow.
