After the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States, the U.S. government and its citizens need to consider all the necessary measures to insure homeland security by expelling all possible terrorists and terroristic groups from our country. Anti-terrorism measures can be a useful tool for sparking many U.S. citizens with patriotism and ethnic pride. By punishing terrorists and terrorist groups, it makes an example out of terrorists and will hopefully prevent terrorism in the future. Since this type of anti-terrorism action can sometimes inflict upon people's civil rights, it's important to ignore these petty freedoms temporarily for the greater good of the country; insuring national security. Measures of anti-terrorism are not only keeping our nation safe, they " re an ideal way for citizens to display their patriotism and ethnic pride.

A new bill, with a rather fitting name, has been passed in congress in order to crack down on terrorism. "The Patriot Act, as Bush puts it, will give intelligence and law enforcement officials new tools to fight a present danger". (Collins, 1). Such legislature as this is sure to bring out the best of American's white Christian population. Surely it will be easier to spot those nasty terrorists as the ones showing the least patriotic enthusiasm. What's that?

In making sure our airports remain free of terrorists, certain people will need to be stopped and searched. Considering the stereotypical profile of a terrorist, it makes perfect sense to stop and question more Arab men than six-year old girls. Walter C. Right now there are thousands of potential terrorists in our country plotting their next attack. I urge the general public to start displaying their true patriotism; even if it might come at the cost of blatant, random, accusations, mild racism, or a bit of anti-semitism.
