I think this on on a Norwegian television show called "Newton" not to long ago... Don't remember the details. Some researchers were trying to find evidence against homeopathy, and were really surprised when they though they had actually found evidence for it...
They published their results but the government demanded a new experiment to be conducted. So they did, looking for the same patterns they had come up with before, again claiming they had found it. However, the goverment had also put up an independent research group to conduct the same experiment, someone who's names wouldn't be affected ina negative way if the experiment failed. And it did...
