The review also says that the film involves a lot of tired, used, previously seen material. It is talking about the wild parties, the strip club sequence, the hard-nosed belligerent coach, the parents who are more concerned with winning than their kids, the wild and rowdy player, the overweight sensitive lineman, and more. These have all been in movies before but there is always a different way of showing it in each movie. The review also says that the film is really about football and the player who does not agree with the totalitarian coach.

The movie in whole has a lot of football but I think it is mainly about the different things that high school athletes go through. The player who is badly injured and cannot play happens in many towns across America. It happened to me. Many athletes understand what it is like to have a coach who is all about winning.

I had two of them. Parties are a big part of the high school scene. I went to almost all of them. All of these are in the movie and relat to some of the things that happen in high school.

The movie is in a part accurate for what goes on in some small towns across the US. The movie takes some of the parts to extremes and blows parts of the movie to unreal proportions but for the most part its what really happens in some small towns. The reviewer for Our Take seems to be against the movie from the start. I think that the reviewer is a concerned parent and is warning the faint hearted people who don t want to believe that this goes on all across America.

This movie is not for the faint of heart and should be take seriously. The reviewer began by calling Varsity Blues a dram edy a mix between comedy and drama. Expecting to see the basic teenage characters and did not take the time to look into the true story line of the movie.
