Pablo Es guerra / P. 1 February 22, 2005 Persuasive Bogot'a Bogot'a: a city full of exciting secrets and interesting attractions. It is located in the Andes Mountain Range in the Altiplano Cundiboyasesnse. It has mountains on the east with three main peaks. It is a city that has a colonial style neighborhood that is called "La Calendar ia".

This neighborhood is located in the center of the city. Bogot'a is the capital of Colombia and where everyone acts very similar and has the same customs and culture. Bogot'a has the perfect climate because e it is located near the equator and it is located in the perfect altitude: 2,600 meters above sea level. It is also located in the savanna of Bogot'a, where the land is fertile and it has a lot of beautiful vegetation around it. There is great food, beautiful women and spectacular sites to go to. It is more of a place to work and live in, although it has beautiful touristic sites.

One of these sites is "El Cerro de Mon serrate". It is a church located on the peak of a mountain where every person who visits Bogot'a goes to. The sights from up there in the peak are beautiful. You can see the whole city that has a population of six million people.

You can climb up the mountain by foot, gondola, or cable car. Up there, there are all kinds of things. These include a cafeteria, a mini "San Andre sito", which is a mini market of souvenirs for everyone who goes there and there is even a wall of the dead were people's plackets are put up when they die. Many people go up there every day; from school field trips to elder people who want to see the whole city for the last time ever before they die.

Another great touristic site is the "Museo Del Oro". It is the museum were all the Colombian pre-columbine gold and clay objects of our Indians that were dug up. They have pieces of the Taironas, Muiscas, Quimbayas, Cali mas, Turacos, San Agustin, Tierra dentro, and many more Colombian pre-columbine tribes. Near this museum, which is located in the center of the city, there is a cultural plaza were the "Museo Del Banco de La Republica,"El Museo De Fernando Botero" and "La Casa De La Moneda" are located at. In the "Museo Del Banco del Banco De La Republica" there are most of all artistic expressions like sculptures and paintings. In "El Museo De Fernando Botero", there isn't much than paintings and sculptures, but what's unique about this museum is that everything was donated by Fernando Botero, a Colombian artist which is famous for his "Fat" paintings.

In this museum there are paintings made mostly by him and some other artists like Pablo Picasso. In "La Casa de la Moneda", there are a bunch of old, beautiful Colombian bills and some paintings. These three museums are owned all by "El Banco De La Republica". The spectacular food found in Bogot'a is found anywhere in the city. You can go to Crepes y Waffles, American Burger and my favorite: WOK, a restaurant of Japanese food where they make the best Sushi ever.

American burger is the best hamburger restaurant in the city. It is not well known but it is delicious. If you want fast food, Hamburguesas El Corral is for you. Fast, delicious and cheap.

If you want to go to a formal El Corral you can go to the El Corral Gourmet. If you want to have a nice time while you eat you might as well go to Hard Rock Caf'e in Atlantis Plaza mall. If you want to go and have typical Colombian food you have to go to a restaurant called Me Import a Un Chorizo. Not all the sites are located in Bogot'a.

There are two salt mines, one in Zipaquir'a and the other one in Nemo c " on. There is also a rock climbing place in Sues ca were a coal mine is located. It is am zing. Another out of town site is Villa De Leva.

Although it is out of the department or state in which Bogot'a is located, it is worth getting to know that beautiful town. If you like to fish you might as well go to the lagoon of Ne usa or to the reservoir of Tomin'e. If you come to Bogot'a you have to go somewhere in china which is a colorific bus were music is played at and everybody dances in. Another traditional vehicle in Colombia is the jeep Willys which is known for its roll in many wars but in Colombia it is a traditional family car that has become part of our culture. Coffee, the Colombian thing best known in the world is also a part of our country so you have to go to the Zona Cafeteria, where all the coffee is planted in.

It is a 5 hour trip by car from Bogot'a, but it is worth it. Come to Bogot'a every time you can, it is a beautiful city in a beautiful country with a unique culture.
