I would like to pursue graduate studies at Cambridge University so that I can build up a career as a teacher training cross-cultural communicators in UK. On the strength of my scores, I gained acceptance in 1995 into British Columbia University and got a diploma of English Foreign Affairs Translation in 1997. During my 1 year's excellent working in a company after graduation, exercising diligence to give full play to my intelligence, I passed the tough exams in May, 1998 for continuing study as an undergraduate majoring in English education at the same school, I wanted to be the kind of teacher who made learning exciting, who understood her students and their lives, and who created innovative learning environments. Here, I received strict training not only in English but also in teaching English education, hardworking and devoted. Giving substance to the university's emphasis on practical skills, I have gained a lot of hands-on experience. Since early in 1998, I have been serving as a valued teacher on a part-time basis at Looney Middle School, the key school in XX City.

Besides, I have taught English in a 6-month internship program at XX Middle School. In this innovative internship program, I also helped students cope with their problems in daily lives, thereby gaining a more intimate understanding of the student's mental and emotional development. In the two schools, I have applied the teaching methods I learned at the university but also strengthened my dedication to the profession of teaching. What makes teaching so enjoyable to me is that it is a learning experience. After a years' part-time experience teaching, what impressed me most for the job was teaching technology. I found that my creativity in teaching increased by multi-media teaching as a new power to me and in turn to my students.

I had found a combination of skills that affected my students in such a positive way that I knew I had to share my findings. Not long before my graduation, I know it was time to broaden my horizons in the field of education to participate in the multi- media teaching program as my graduation thesis at SCNU. My research was presented to juniors at SCNU and highly praised by the teachers and students. In July, 2000, I have not been willing to quit my teaching job if my brother didn't want me to help his business as a saleswoman.

However, the working experiences in the company which made me close to the society and benefits to me a lot as a future teacher who has enlarged the scope of knowledge in other field. I'm supposed the comprehensive quality is very important as a teacher who is not only master the knowledge of his major. In truth, I believe that an Education master degree will allow me to explore all aspects of the educational field, and provide myself with an excellent basis for a career in teaching. I hope that my statement shows I am a dedicated student, as well as an active member of the community.
