Simon's death, the beast within the boys, and the way Ralph was hunted were all examples of William Golding's ways to tell the readers about his theory on the book., that society is what is needed to anything but evil. Lord of the Flies showed that the evil residing within everyone could be unleashed. It proved the dark side of human nature could be as crazy and as scary as the "beast" it itself, and even the most innocent of us are at risk to it.
