Novel Our Class example essay topic

309 words
William Goldman's novel the lord of the flies has become one of the most widely read pieces of American Literature from the 20th century. The exercises performed on Friday helped our class better understand the motivations of the characters from the novel. The primary way in which our class was able to better comprehend the characters occurred when we elected a leader. Furthermore, the second way in which we understood the characters was when our elected leader was overthrown and "anarchy" resulted. To begin, the main characters were stranded on an island after a horrific plane crash. In order to survive Ralph was appointed the position of leader by the other boys.

So that we might better understand the process of selecting someone to lead us our class took a vote to decide who should become our leader just as the characters in the novel did. We as a class elected Garret to be our leader. However, just like the novel our class quickly disintegrated into anarchy in the lord of the flies, Ralph was established as a leader. In addition, the characters in the novel wanted freedom and once they arrived on the island they got what they always wished for, just as in class on Friday once we got power we didn't know what to do. As such, we all decided to take notes and discuss the book Likewise, the characters in the story decided to go to the beach and on the way they spotted a wild pig and decided to hunt the pig for food.

This example shows how we had to survive in class without the teacher on Friday. To conclude, William Goldman's Lord of the Flies benefitted for our whole class to show us how the characters are just like us.
