Okonkwo Fear has a strong ability to control a man's fate. In the novel 'Things Fall Apart' it is evident that Okonkwo's fear of being weak leads to his excile. China Achebe's novel was set in Eastern Niagara in the late 19th century at a time of their colonization by the British. Throughout the novel Okonkwo demonstrates that he doesn't wont to be like his father, Eze udu. This leads to Okonkwo's terrible choices which cause him to sin against his culture and his tribe and allows him too believe that he is turning out to be more like his father.

Okonkwo's downfall occurs due to many actions, which are seen as an insult to his culture. His fear possesses him and drives his stubborn personality. Therefore it was his fate that has to be exciled. Okonkwo makes many appalling choices which lead to a various amount of actions which causes Okonkwo to be exciled.

Okonkwo is a protagonist and has a dreadful temper are and is known to be hard, brutal, reactionary and ambitious. Okonkwo's actions, which are not correct by his culture and the Ibo tribe. Various characters contribute to Okonkwo's downfall and it plays a big role in his life, which is demonstrated in his entire household. Okonkwo would never show his affection, however, believe that "To show affection was a sign of weakness". (p. 25) Some of the major actions that occurred, in Okonkwo's life was the shooting of Ekwnsu, and the killing of Ikemefuna.

These actions took place due to Okonkwo feeling tense and idle, he finds an excuse to beat his second wife, Ekwefi in the scared week. When she makes a derogatory comment, he shoots her with his old hunting gun. Fortunately, the shot misses and Ekwefi is not injured by it. These actions all took place and cause Okonkwo's excile and leads to his downfall. "What you have done will not please the Earth. It is the kind of action for which the Goddess wipes out whole families". (p. 58) This presents strong meaning to Okonkwo, saying and letting him develop the concept that the bad things de does (ie. actions), will determine his life.

These actions contribute to his excile, but are mainly cause by his fear of being weak. Okonkwo's actions are all caused by his fear of being weak which results in his downfall. Okonkwo has an overly strong fear of failure, and turning out to be like his Un oka his father. Okonkwo despises his father to be lazy, poor, debt-ridden and not a person he wants to turn out to be. Okonkwo's fears lead to his actions and show's that he is really weak. ."..

Okonkwo devastation takes the form of a great emptiness and it dazes him. Okonkwo's actions all lead and are caused by his fear, which leads to his fate and his excile. Okonkwo's personality would always cause actions that are erroneous and consequence in his fate. Okonkwo is exciled from the Ibo tribe, and one of his goals was to be wealthy and have a lot of yams.

The fear of failure that drives Okonkwo is really a fear of appearing to be what he calls 'womanish'. This resolves in Okonkwo being inflexible with results in him be something of an outsider, which contributes to his fate. Fate has a meaning for everyone and for Okonkwo fate is determined by his good and evil actions and fears. .".. living for the day, in eating 'what one had in one's lifetime'". (p. 4) This shows that Okonkwo's fate occurs from the actions he exhibits and fears that he has. Therefore it was Okonkwo's fate that conducted his excile and lead to him committing suicide out of despair for the future of the Ibo tribe. There are many actions that took place in Okonkwo's life that are caused by his fear of being weak which show the way to his excile and downfall. Okonkwo's actions that have undertook are caused by his fear of being weak and turning out like his father which is a foundation of his fate to turn out horrific and lead to his downfall.

Human's fate is all apart of their judgment in their life, which are their actions and their fears of being weak and failure.
