One Night My Brother example essay topic

ALCOHOL In the movie on alcohol it further informed me on the dangers of drinking. For example, I was not aware of the effects that alcohol had on the brain. I knew that it slowed reaction time and messed up coordination, but I did not know that it scrambled your brain and caused craters like it showed in the X-rays. Alcohol has been a factor in my life, not for me but for family members.

My uncle basically drank and smoked him self to death. For as long as I knew my uncle he was always either smoking a cigarette, or drinking a beer. When he was in his mid 40's he was having some stomach pains, but thought it was just sickness. A while later he got sick again. He was throwing up blood so he went to the hospital. The doctors found out that some of his organs were failing.

He was in the hospital for a while for about a month. I saw him a few days before he died. He got really skinny and his skin color changed to a pale yellow. Because of drinking and smoking my uncles liver and kidneys failed, his body could no longer function properly. Another reason the alcohol has been a factor in my life is my older brother.

He was always a big parties in high school. He's two year older than I am, so when I was a sophomore he was a senior. One night my brother was at a friends "birthday party" and everyone was real drunk. Towards the end of the party my brother was getting ready to go but one of his friend started yelling at some people.

My brother went to go see what was going on and my brother and his friend got jumped. My brother got pistol whipped and knocked to the ground, some guy pointed the gun to my brother's head. Everyone scattered and someone pulled the guy off my brother. My brother could have died that night because someone had too much to drink.

So in conclusion, I thought that the movie had some good points in it and it has reinforced my views on drinking.
