Anne Frank The Diary of a Young Girl is an epic of the suffering of the Jewish people during the Holocaust Era (1942-44) in Amsterdam, Holland, but in particular, the trials suffered by the author, a young girl named Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daan family. This story gives a viewing window of what it is like to live under a false identity, hiding one's heritage in return of freedom of religion and a chance to live. In the two years Anne Frank was forced to remain in hiding by the Nazi's persecution of the Jews of Europe, she recorded her feelings from 1942 to 1944 in a diary given to her as a birthday gift from her father. Together with her parents (Otto Frank and Mrs. Frank), and her sister Margot Frank, the Van Daan family consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, and Peter Van Daan, and later in the story Mr. Dussek a dentist who join the group in hiding late; Anne hid. The hiding place was a set of rooms or a secret annex of a factory, which now became a historical and tourist point in front of the Prinsengracht Canal in Amsterdam, behind a hidden door blocked by a sliding bookcase. During the day, Anne and her friends had to keep very quiet in order not to attract the attention of the factory workers, because that would be fatal, but during the night the group was free to carefully move around.

Anne Frank was just a simple girl growing up and maturing while hiding from the Nazis. Unfortunately, the group was discovered and sent to concentration camps, not to ever been seen again. From the eight members of the group, only Otto Frank, Anne's father, survived. Otto Frank eventually published Anne's diary that was given to him by two young women that at the time worked at the office of the factory. The same diary by this little girl has gained the recognition of many all over the globe and known as one of the finest from that period of time.

Above all, Anne was an ordinary girl, growing up, and eventually dying, but she was an ordinary girl growing up in an extraordinary historical difficult period of time. Anne loved life and struggled for it, was interested in history and movie stars. She was also interested in Greek mythology, cats, writing, and boys. An ordinary girl like Anne Frank once wished I want to go living even after my death. That wished has become true, as millions of people are familiar with her existence. This book is written in an expressive narration form.

Throughout the book Anne Frank expressed and recorded her feelings, her emotions, and her thoughts, as well as events that happened to her during the two years of hiding by the Nazi persecution of the Jews of Europe.
