Our Society And The Nursing Profession example essay topic
This is the main reason I have decided to become a nurse. There are also endless opportunities, flexibility, rewards, and professional status associated with nursing. As a volunteer of the oncology unit at a local hospital, I have an opportunity to get a closer look at some of the many facets of nursing. I have learned that nurses are extremely important and play a major role in the medical field.
I enjoy caring for the patients, and volunteering at the hospital is the best thing that I have ever done. After graduating from College of Nursing, I plan to work as a registered nurse and continue my education to become a nurse practitioner. As a nurse, I feel that I can contribute to improving our society and the nursing profession by sharing my knowledge, wisdom, skills, and gift of caring with others. Although I believe that I could work well in any nurse setting, I've been torn between working with the elderly and children because I get a special joy out of helping those who are not able to help themselves.
I decided on working in pediatrics because kids of all ages love me. I've never been able to clearly understand exactly why I have a special connection with kids, but I believe it could be because they sense the love and care I have for them. I'm hoping that nursing will allow me the opportunity to help bring a smile to children faces and give them a sense of comfort when they are sick. In conclusion, nursing will allow me the opportunity to continue to serve the community as well as use my gift of helping and caring for others. I would like to change and touch the world by sharing my gift in a profession that I feel needs it most. However, as much as I would like to change and touch the world, I feel it is more important to be a part of making a world of difference.
I don't believe that there is any other profession that would bring me greater joy than nursing.
