In America it is essential to have an education to enhance your job and provide a comfortable future for your family. After having children I realized that education is significant in order to succeed. Working takes a lot of time away from my family. Adding school to my schedule makes it difficult to spend quality time with my children.

The problem I have with balancing school, work, and family is being an excellent student, an outstanding employee, and a caring mother all in the same day. The trouble I have with being an excellent student while juggling a job and a family is finding the time to study. I cannot ignore my family. It is my responsibility, as a parent; to see to my families needs first, for this leads to homework and studies last.

Staying awake after hours may contribute to arriving to class late. I quickly gather my thoughts after arriving to class, and take a deep breath to adjust from the commotion of the morning. As class begins, I am ready to comprehend the lesson. Not understanding the lesson can affect my family and job. When I do have a concern with a class I give my concern to Jesus, and pray that He will give me the knowledge to understand the lesson. In addition to being an excellent student and I put forth effort to be an outstanding employee.

Working as a waitress I find it beneficial to smile when working. Smiling makes a customer feel welcome. Giving efficient service makes customers content. In return they may gratify me with a gracious tip. While making the customer feel welcome and happy working as a team with co-workers is essential for a successful day. Before I leave I assure my boss that all my tasks are done.

Leaving work with all of my duties completed is the key to being a responsible employee. As well as being an excellent student, and an outstanding employee my greatest role is being a caring mother, therefore, providing a schedule for my children is a necessity. Not having a schedule will cause frustration. When I am working or in school I am concerned about my children.

At the end of the day I am eager to pick my children up from their schools. Hugs and kisses are required when we greet one another. Every child needs affection to know that they are loved and cared for. Afterwards we proceed home to prepare for dinner, baths and bedtime.

I am fortunate to spend quality time with my children every night. Working as a waitress there are no benefits. As a single mother, continuing my education will provide a brighter future for my children and me..
