Pearls Kino example essay topic

This book is about a family, the mother Juana, the father Kino, and the son Coyotito. They are Indians. They live in a brush house in a small village out side of a larger town. To Kino every thing is a song he listening to what he calls the Family Song in the morning when his wife is making breakfast. One morning there was a scorpion on there sons bed and it stung him. They went to the doctor but they did not have any money so he would not help them.

They went to the coast that day because Kino is a pearl er. Juana got some seaweed and put it on the baby's shoulder were he was stung. While out looking for pearls Kino found a great pearl and Coyotito got better. The neighbors came over to see the pearl and he told what he was going to do with the money he got from it.

He was going to get married (they did not have enough money to get married). He was going to buy new clothes and send his son to school. The doctor found out about the pearl and so he went to help the son's sting because he knew he could make some money. He saw that the poison was still in him and it will come back. Well the baby got sick again from the sting but the doctor came to help him again and he got better. The doctor found out where Kino had hide the pearl, and seemed suspicious.

That night some one tried to take the pearl from where he had hid it. Kino had it with him though. The next day Kino took the pearl to the pearl buyer. Every one in the little village followed him into the town. The pearl buyer said the pearl was not worth much because it was too big. Kino wanted to here some one else's opinion.

Three more came and said the same thing. Kino thought they were all cheating him. He said he would go to the capital and sell it. That night someone tried to get in again and they cut Kino. He did not know who it was. He had a cut from his ear to his chin.

They went back to sleep. Kino woke up again to the sound of his wife getting the pearl. Then she took off to the sea. She was going to throw the pearl in the sea.

Kino stopped her just in time. One the way back to his house, a man attacked him. Kino killed the man out of self defense. The man had put a hole in their boat so they could not get a way. They burnt their house to make people think they were gone but they were in Kino's brothers house. They left the town the next night.

They traveled to a mountain. They were very hot and tired. Trackers had found their trail and were following them. They climbed for a long time. The trackers were still following them. they hid in a cave. Then Kino killed them.

They headed home then threw the pearl in the ocean. This was an okay book. There were some parts that were hard to understand. Other than that it was good.
