Almost everyone likes to take time out from a world of work and relax once in a while. One way of relaxing that has become popular amongst the people of today's society is to take a vacation. This action has taken off with the people of today's society. However, a vacation can mean several different things to several different people. For some people a vacation might be a chance to relax, while to others, a vacation might mean to leave their professional work for a while, only to do another different kind of work. An example of what a vacation is to me, is a trip.

The trip is a chance to get away from everything and see new sights. Vacations take several shapes, but the main purpose is to relax stays constant. The first type of vacation, is a home vacation. This vacation is typically for personal relaxation. A person can just stop working and enjoy the little things they never noticed. On this type of vacation you can sleep later into the day, take your time eating breakfast, see a long awaited movie, or just spending time with the family.

The home vacation generally might mean a chance to appreciate and take advantage of all the things right around you, that you never had time for before. Another alternative route that people choose for a vacation, is to travel. Generally these vacations involve your family. Typically, there are two types of traveling destinations people like to take trips to. People like to go to either a hot and tropical climate, or a cold and snowy climate. Whichever type of vacation a person chooses, it normally is most likely related to what activities they like.

The tropical vacation usually involves water, hotels, sight seeing, and fancy clothes. Generally these trips are for people who want to sleep later into the day, have a nice brunch, and then sleep or engage in activities on a beautiful beach. After getting their nice golden tan, the person most likely will go to their room, where they can take a shower and get all dressed up for a fancy dinner. After dinner, the couple or family usually engages in pleasant activities like walking through a quaint town or stopping to listen to a band that might be playing as they are walking by.

On the other hand, you also have those who love to take vacations into the mountains. These trips are generally for those who enjoy colder climates. The main cold climate vacation involves snow activities. One example of an activity that usually takes place in this climate is skiing. Normally the couple or family that takes this type of vacation would pack warmer clothing, such as heavy jackets and thermal pants. For these people, a typical day generally involves waking up, having a good hot breakfast, and skiing on the slopes.

Next, the people would remain skiing for most of the afternoon and into the early evening. The only time that they would stop is for lunch and a cup of hot cider to warm them up. After they finished their day on the slopes, they would go back to their room where they can clean up and prepare for a joyful evening. After they dine the couple or family would either go back to skiing, go out for a quiet evening in a nearby town, or sit in front of a toasty fireplace and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while engaging in a pleasant conversation. No matter how one chooses to relax and gain enjoyment through a vacation, a vacation is always just a break from what you have to go back to. So whether the vacation is a take it easy vacation at home, or a more elaborate, expensive vacation away from home, it will always be just a vacation.

That means you better enjoy your break from reality because soon it will be over.
