Hello there, I'm Palpatine Bales, presidential nominee for the Porsche Party. First off let me start by saying that as President of the U.S., I will work for the people throughout my term of office. I guess there are a few issues that I should address here today and then we can have a little Q and A session afterwards if you all have anything else that needs to be brought up. So... A very critical issue that many people are concerned with today is the social security for future citizens. There is a possibility that if we don't pay close attention to this, each and every one of you will not be receiving social security once you are retired.
I propose that each subsequent year we put a portion of our current social security funds away in a "lockbox" of sorts that can't be tampered with by our welfare funding or anything else for that matter. This will guarantee that every working American will be assured a check from the U.S. government in the future once they retire. Next off, there's the issue of stem cell research. Some say that this is immoral and unethical to take part in the experimentation, manipulation, and sometimes destruction of the components of what we call life.
They say that it is against the very basis of every religious body in the nation. Also I can see the views of the other side who would say that it's not destroying anything but a dish full of goo and that to stay on top of the field of science worldwide we must do these experimentation's. Also they say that the cures for diseases like cancer lie in stem cell research. I'd like to close by discussing the crisis in the Middle East. Currently, President Bush is doing a wonderful job of handling the problems by battling the terrorism of the world, as well as attempting to open peace negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and threatening madman dictators such as Sad am Hussein.
In my term of office I will continue these struggles to perhaps solve some of the problems that have existed on this planet for far too long. Thanks for your time and remember that if nothing fails, vote for Bales..
