A Paper on Learning Styles La-la-la-la... singing a tune but can't make out its lyrics? What about seeing a person in the mall and swear that you know him but you just can't remember his name? Then I can make an inductive guess that you " re a global learner. On the other hand, if you are more likely to remember lyrics and people's names then you must be an analytic learner.

These are examples of learning styles. A learning style is how a person grasps information. It is important for a person to be familiar with his learning style. Knowing this will help him understand how he stores newly absorbed and difficult information and to recalling it as well. As a result, this lets the reader easily comprehend why and how his opinions are formulated. Also this will aid him in speeding up his learning process.

Knowing a person's learning style is not only for the person himself but also for the teacher. This allows the instructor to choose activities which would be more appealing and helpful to his students. An example of this would be incorporating music to his subject. This approach will be most helpful to global learners who are more apt to audio or an informal setting. On the contrary, analytics favor silence and a formal atmosphere.

It was also observed that analytics are compelled to accomplish their task before moving on to the next job where as globals are often found to jump from job to the other before going back to it again to finish it. We cannot say that one learning style is more effective than the other. It is how we deal with the task to be done, in other words working with our learning style. When I was in elementary, I remember studying while the radio was turned on.

I would sit on my desk with a bowl chips or bite from a chocolate bar while reading. I could hardly stick what I was doing. But as I entered high school my old ways has become a distraction to me. I would find it difficult to concentrate when people begin to talk or if someone would turn on the television. Now my studying cannot be done with just a bit of noise. Inductively, I can assume that grade schoolers are often global but as they progress they tend to transform to be analytic.
