The chapter that I am writing on is the trust chapter. This is something that I struggle with on a regular basis. Its hard for me to trust people I think that it has something to do with how I was raised and prior issues with others. I really don't see this as a problem for me because I think the less I trust people the less I will get hurt. As I child I remember my parents telling me that I could not trust others and to be careful who I let into my life. Now as an adult that is something that I remember the most.
I also had a few instances in school where you thought you had a good friend and they betrayed you or had other motives, so learning from these things I have learned not trust people and give them a hard time when it comes to trust and opening up. I don't know if this is the right rationale but it seems to work for me. At the same time I can see that this could be a problem for people who really have trust issues so bad that it makes them look like they are paranoid. This is not how I am I tend to analyze people before I get to know them and think that they have some type of anterior motivates for dealing with me. Or just deal with them a little from the beginning and see how it goes but not expect much out of the relationship whether it be friendship or other relationship.
This really has not effected me to negatively I kind of consider it a nice trait to have, because then I can not be suckered in to anything. Furthermore, you always hear all these stories of these gullible people who can be talked out of anything. The one thing that I can be sure of is that will not be me. So when I reflect on this chapter and see how trust is really important in yourself and in others I see that it can have some good effects and negative ones if you don't have it in others. As I look closer at it I think my good effects outweigh the negative ones and I am not missing too much by not trusting others. Its not that I don't trust anyone it is just that it takes a lot for someone to earn my trust.
This is good because if gives someone something to work towards after all when you have a job you are working for your money, so why not work for my trust.
