A Manager of the Premier Partner Marketing Division of Jefferson Pilot must be multi-task oriented. He or She has to be creative and energetic to keep up with all of their priorities. Their greatest challenge is attempting to juggle the required but not necessarily profitable tasks among the crucial projects needed to meet the Premier Partner goals. They are scheduled to work from 8: 00 am to 5: 00 pm and do whatever it takes to get the job done during that time. If they can't then they will have to take the work home with them. Many tasks have to be completed before the next business day.

All tasks performed are critical to the next task. Along with this position one has to enjoy interaction with all types of people and be able to deal with the ups and downs. At one moment the Manager could be enjoying the rush from seeing near Partners qualify for the program and are finally allowed to reap the benefits. They may also enjoy working closely with others to plan and implement events such as Premier Partner Staff Training and Symposium.

On the other hand, they have to deal with conflicting information, usually dealing with production numbers, within the company. They also have to deal with complaints from Premier Partners who were terminated from the program because they did not re-qualify. A manager can often become frustrated. For instance they do not have the ability to track specific information regarding Premier Partners, while the IT team attempts to re-design the database.

A lot of the information that is currently inaccessible is needed when speaking with and dealing with questions from Premier Partners. A manger however has to do they best he or she can to deal with customer without it. All this hard work does not go un-rewarded. They also take pride in meeting company wide goals. The current goal is to obtain 700 Premier Partners and to reach a $400 million in net sales by the end of 2004. Since many of the rewards in this position come from a team effort a Manager must expect their boss the Assistant Vice President- Premier Partner Marketing and their subordinate the Premier Partner Marketing Specialist to have a customer oriented attitude, a willingness to strive for excellence, and the ability to pull together and see a project through to the end. As a Manager- Premier Partner Marketing Division one must wake up every day with the attitude of what he or she can do to gain more Premier Partners. They have to thrive off of energy and excitement and be able to deal with the issues that arise.

The position is fast paced, there is never down time. If one is not working on a project then, they are dealing directly with Premier Partners. With this position, if you don't love it, then you " ll hate it.
