President Bush example essay topic

275 words
The State of the Union On Wednesday February 2, 2005, President George W. Bush gave an opinion changing speech. President Bush has great intentions to make America a safer, as well as peaceful, place to live. We all expected him to say, "I will cut taxes and make collage more affordable", but he also made promises that were unexpected. Although this was a very serious speech, he managed to put a bit of humor in his speech, which made it more interesting. Bush made many promises he intends to keep. Some of them include: Cutting taxes by 2009, eliminate government programs that are not useful, have better resources for business owners and employees, make healthcare and medicine affordable with more benefits, make collage more affordable, and use social security more wisely.

I would think of America as a wonderful place if all those promises were fulfilled. The President made strong points that led to many standing ovations. He recognized that we should make America a more independent country. That doesn't mean getting rid of our very allies, that just means being less reliant on foreign energy and supplies.

He also said we should help strengthen and save social security. Health wise, Bush said he would make healthcare and medicines more affordable as well as reauthorize the Ryan White Act-which is the act that provides healthcare for people with the HIV disease. Even though the president may have repeated some of his reasons, he did have many good points. So, in the words of President Bush", All we do is strive for peace".
