Project For High School Students example essay topic

Do I still want to teach? Well, I count myself as being one of the luckiest students alive today because I have had some of the most wonderful teachers in the world. They have always inspired me in some way shape or form to either do my best or they pushed me to become the young man I am today. So to teaching I say, "YES!" whole-heartedly. I love the career and I enjoy helping others like no other does. When the gentleman came in the Wednesday's class tell us about his experiences about teaching, I had envisioned myself doing those same sorts of things for other schools to make them feel welcome.

He didn't do it because he thought he had to but out of the kindness of his hearts. I want to give that to students, a piece of my heart. No matter how they take it, whether they rip it up and throw it away, if the cherish it with love and tenderness, or whether they take it and then forget about it. To be honest I don't think any of my students, that is when I become a teacher, will ever forget me if they have me!

I understand what kind of energy you must actually put into education for you as a teacher to get something back out of it. You must work almost everyday and night, if you want your kids to succeed or you might just see them fail, and no teacher in their right mind would want that for any of their students. Teaching is not going to be as "wham bam thank you mam" easy like I thought it was going to be. I know now how hard it is for first year teachers to cope with and deal with all the emotional problems they may face. I remember in the video How Difficult Can This Be? Understanding Learning Disabilities how the guy treated the adults in the room, on how to treat learning disabled children.

I learned that they first have to interpret the question, then think about the answer, and then reply to the question. It takes them twice as long in the thinking process, as it does a normal student. At least I would not feel left out in the dust on how to handle a learning disabled child if ever I received one. I know and understand the fears of being a first year teacher and I think in the years to come I will have to knowledge to be able to deal with colleagues and students in the right mannerisms. With the way my mind thinks and besides the way I act, I would think it best if I went into secondary education. One of the first reasons is because of the maturity level of the pupils, or what the maturity level "should" be by that age!

I want to give my kids ideas and glimpses as to how college life really is, and how college is only what you make of it. It is simply nothing more or less; you put every bit of energy forth to further your own education. If you don't do it then who is going to for you, NO ONE! I want to let the kids know the important stuff about college, like: how to study for test, how to write a term paper, what to expect to get out of classes, and I want to be there for them when they come back to visit and help them out on their college work. Now I also want to teach secondary education because I want to teach drama, speech, music, and science. Now I realize that I may not get to teach all these in one year, but I hope to at least start a club where I could have some of the students stay after school and learn what I love most, performing!

There is no other career out there like performing. I think that is why I want to teach drama or theater so bad so I can show off a little and guide the students in the right path if ever they wished to perform. Plus I would love to give opportunities for those few students to get in the spotlight where they would normally not have the chance. I also want to teach high school because I loving coaching. I have always done sports and theater my whole life, so I want to teach and coach at a high school level where the sports program is absolutely solid! Talking about sports and coaching, any coach can grow as any player can grow.

One can always learn new plays, and new tactics of coaching. I know that I will need work in coaching because of the simple fact that I have not done it for a career yet. And above and behold I know that I will need work, help, and plenty of prayers in becoming a teacher. Now I will have a ton to offer the school that finally decides to put me under contract, such as: my performance skills singing, dancing, and acting; my knowledge of people skills; my creative mind; and my personality. I am an easygoing guy and it is extremely hard to upset me. I normally stay very calm in accident situations because I have been a lifeguard for three years now.

My performance skills will help me in the classroom, in the fact that I will not freeze in front of my student when teaching. I also do not get embarrassed very easy because of my performing days. My creative mind will help me with coming up with project for high school students to do that are hands on experiment. Making student laugh is the easiest way one to get their attention and another to keep their attention.

This is where my personality comes into play; I simply love to make other people laugh. This is also a good way to get to know my colleagues. With laughter you have the key to other peoples hearts, and not too many people realize how much one little smile can brighten up someone's day or even their week. So making everyone around me pleasant, not satisfied because that is almost impossible, is one of my main goals as a teacher to be!
