Required Physical Education Class Throughout Grade School example essay topic
You could say I've been pretty lazy. If I were to say that I still had any strengths left, they would be anything having to do with anaerobic exercise. Perhaps such things as lifting weights for a short period of time I may still be able to do pretty well, but as for running a mile or so, I don't think I'd be able to do it as well as I used to. My activity background isn't very extensive other than a required physical education class throughout grade school.
However in middle school I played on a soccer team recreation ally for a year or two. In high school I really started to become aware of my physical condition and myself. I began to get tired easily and my muscles always hurt. I was horribly out of shape. So in ninth grade I decided to joint the wrestling team. And every winter form ninth to twelfth grade I was always in the best shape ever.
Wrestling kept me fit, flexible, and feeling good about myself. Since then, however, I've been very inactive. I spent the past summer and fall trashing my body by getting inadequate sleep, and partying way too much. When I signed up for this class I had made up my mind that enough was enough and I needed to get back in shape. I guess I scored so poorly on the fitness tests because I haven't been very active. But I hope to change all of that for the better.
I want to get back what I once had. I had strength, flexibility, endurance, stamina, and self esteem. And I know that it won't be an easy task getting it all back. But I plan on working hard to achieve any short-term goal I set for myself physically and maybe even hope to surpass it. To get my endurance, strength, and stamina back, I plan on lifting weights to ensure muscular strength as well as endurance.
For stamina as well as endurance a regular cardiovascular workout will be required several times a week. I plan on running as much as possible during the week so that I can get myself back in shape. As far as flexibility goes, I plan on doing various upper and especially lower body stretches before and after every workout and hopefully in time I'll be able to become as flexible as I once was. I realize that it will be a long and arduous road ahead to attain the results that I desire. But I plan to put my best foot forward and work as hard as possible to really get what I want not only out of the class, but in general as well in relation to my physical goals.
