Result Of The Act Of Non Conformity example essay topic
If an act of non-conformity also displays a person's individuality and self pride I feel this should be greatly admired because it is often hard for many people in today's society to be different and individual, because great emphasis is placed on conformity in today's society, whether it be fashion, style, sexuality, law etc. Acts of non-conformity which result in a negative effect on people or on the individual should be admonished, as they only harm people and create misery, anger etc. Acts of non-conformity vary from person to person, and all of them result in different effects, either on the person who performed it, or those around the individual e.g. family, loved ones, public, and on a larger scale the country. These acts will either have a negative effect or positive effect, or possibly even a neutral effect where there maybe no real or significant effect. An example of a positive effect of non-conformity would be Rosa Parkes, whose determination to stand up for what is right and what she believed in lead to the disintegration of institutionalized segregation in America. Acts of Non-conformity that lead to a positive effect (s), I feel should be deeply admired, because these acts help make people happier, better off etc.
Non conformists are people who dare to be different, stand up for what is right and generally, those who decide not to be slaves of the ordinary which is why they should be admired, because they are not afraid to be confident, to be themselves and most of all to express their individuality and uniqueness. An act of non-conformity may not always have a motive behind it to make people happier or even to stand up against something, they may be something as simple as choosing not to wear the same clothes as everyone else, choosing a different sexuality, or even may not choose to follow the style and trends followed by people in today's society. Even though these acts do not have a positive effect on others, I still feel it is necessary to admire them for their courage and independence because they have had the will and strength to not conform and to be themselves.
