When people are on vacation, most people have the "it won't happen to me mentality" and think that they can go off and have fun without worrying about where there money is. Additionally, people on vacation usually carry large sums of money with them, enough for the duration of the trip. A lot of times, there is not a lot of local support in the vacation area, or there are too many people in one area for the police to cover. Cooperative efforts between hotel properties, the police, and the city districts also need to occur to implement security measures and prevent crimes.
