Robert On The Other Hand example essay topic

My Sibling Relationship If you have younger brothers or sisters you may define them as brats, suck-ups, pests, and brown no sers. I would have to agree with you because mine is definitely all of the three and more. He is childish, argumentative, and knows how to get everything he wants. I have an eleven year old brother named Robert. He was born when I was six years old making us six years apart which is a pretty big age difference. I think because of this age difference we fight a lot more than other siblings would that are around two or three years apart.

Siblings that are closer in age are more likely to play with each other than siblings that are further apart. But I did not want my brother around. I was the only child for six years and when this new baby came into the family I was not very happy. I remember my parents being very strict on me. Anything I did wrong I would get punished for it.

But Robert on the other hand, would probably be told to stop or not to do it again. It was not fair at all and I would be sure to tell them. Then, when we would fight about him being in my room or him taking my things my mother would always tell me to be the mature one and stop acting like I was his age. That was probably the worst thing my mother could tell me because it made me infuriated. He was the one being irritating so why couldn't she tell him to stop and leave me alone? Robert is very affectionate towards my parents.

He says goodnight every night before going to bed and I love you every time he leaves to go to school. I on the other hand love my parents of course but I'm just not an affectionate person towards them. They know I love them so I don't feel the need to tell them everyday. I think being affectionate is very big brownie points for my brother.

He says I love you every time he wants my mom or dad to buy him something. Nine times out of ten it works and it's very nauseating. The most childish thing that my brother does is hide his favorite snacks after my mother comes back from the grocery store. He of course, goes with her and picks out what he wants and he knows that I usually like the same snacks so when he gets home he will take almost half of the snacks out of the box and hide them somewhere in the kitchen and act like he already ate the ones that are missing. I never fall for it and usually do the same thing back to him.

Then, what do you know; I get in trouble for that because I am supposed to be the older mature one. Then, when my boyfriend, Bradley, comes over Robert always wants to talk to him about video games. At first Bradley didn't mind it but now every time he comes to the house Robert hovers over him and talks to him about every video game for Playstation and the new ones that are about to come out. Not only is Bradley a little irritated but I am furious! I would like him to just go away and leave us alone. If Bradley and I decide to go to the store, Robert always invites himself to come with us.

I hate when he does this so I go and tell my mom but of course Robert whines to her and pleads saying he needs to get something from the same store. Yeah right, he just wants to go because Bradley is going. So my mother tells me to let him tag along. Out of all these horrible things that my brother does, I may say that I hate him and cannot stand him but I truly do love him.

He is fun to be with at times and I would miss him if he were gone. I do not think I would like to be an only child because Robert helps things not be so boring around the house. He helps give a little excitement to the atmosphere. I would not trade him for any other brother in the world.
