Romeo And Juliet example essay topic

Youth often suffer for older peoples mistakes. This is true in many cases in the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. This mostly occurs between Romeo and Juliet, but other characters were affected as well. Mercutio and Tybalt were also victims of older people's mistakes. Romeo and Juliet suffered greatly in the play. Both suffered because it was hard for them to see each other without their parents knowledge.

Romeo killed himself because he thought that Juliet was dead when she actually had been given a 42 hour sleeping potion by Friar Lawrence. If the Friar hadn't given the potion to Juliet, Romeo would probably not have killed himself. As a result of Romeo killing himself, Juliet then wakes up and finds Romeo dead. This then causes Juliet to kill herself. This is all a chain of events suffered by youth that were caused by adults'. Another victim of the Capulet and Montegue conflict was Mercutio.

When Tybalt and Mercutio were fighting, Mercutio was badly wounded by a sword. He then cries, 'A plague a both your houses,' ; blaming his death on the house of the Montegue and the Capulets. The feud was probably all started by the parents who then passed it down to their children who were taught to hate one another. This shows another example that young ones can suffer from adults actions. Tybalt was another sacrifice to the Capulet and Montegue households. He was killed by Romeo while avenging Mercutio's death.

If it wasn't for the conflict started between the Montegue and Capulet house, neither Mercutio or Tybalt would have been killed. As a result, Romeo was exiled which led to both the death of him and of Juliet. Later, this led to peace again between the two families as Montegue offers to put up a statue of Juliet. In the play, all of the deaths were caused by the Capulet and Montegue quarrel. The two houses didn't attempt to make peace. Instead, they wanted each other to die as shown when Mrs. Capulet wants Romeo dead rather than trying to make peace.

The two families didn't realize that they were causing themselves and the city lots of trouble. At the end of the play, the two households finally realize what they have done, and they become friends and agree not the fight anymore.
