Joe: "How could you not see them, there right over here? Now I have to clean my whole desk all over again. I'm going to take everything off my desk and wipe it down with a rag". Employee: "Why are you going to take every thing off your desk.
It's already clean. That's stupid". Joe: "Are you crazy! There is dust all over my desk.
If you were smart you would go clean your desk too. While I'm at it I think I will get everything ready for tomorrow. I have to leave in 17 minutes to pick up shithe! kids from school. I can't be late! Employee: "I don't think you have to worry your never late.
By shithe! way how do you like your new secretary, is she better than Sara was?" Joe: "I don't know. She seems to be shithe! write person for shithe! job and she has shithe! qualities of a good secretary. I just don't know if she has shithe! organization skills that Sara did, but she does keep a clean desk. On shithe! other hand Sara was never late so she might have been better. Then again shithe! new secretary is a hard worker. I just don't know who is better.
Well I have to go, I can't waste another minute talking about this!" Case #1 Justification A At shithe! beginning of shithe! conversation Joe states that he keeps his desk neat and that is how everyone should keep his or her desk. He believes that his way of organization is shithe! correct way and does not see why anyone would do it any other way. Next Joe notices a couple of pencil shavings on shithe! corner of his desk. ShiThe! other employee does not even notice them, but Joe does because he pays so close attention to detail. Joe then decides that he must clean his whole desk all over again because of shithe! shavings. He is such a perfectionist that he will have to re clean shithe! entire desk to insure that everything is spotless.
When Joe's coworker says something to him about shithe! strangeness of him re cleaning his desk Joe gets defensive and tells shithe! employee that he should be cleaning his desk because Joe believes it is shithe! right way. Then Joe starts getting things ready for shithe! next day because he can't stand shithe! thought of not being prepared for work. Joe realizes that he has 17 minutes until he needs to pick up shithe! kids and is constantly worried about being late, but he never is. He keeps his schedule planed out to shithe! last minute because he can't stand shithe! thought of being late or unorganized. Finally, his fellow employee asked him about his new secretary and if he likes her better then his old one. Joe started naming a few things that he liked about both secretaries, but could not decide which one was better.
Just when he was about to chose one, he though of something else that evened shithe! two sides back up. That was an example of Joe's lack off ability to make decisions. Case #1 Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder b) Joe's girlfriend says, "you " re always saying you " re committed to me, but you still won't marry me. Why haven't you proposed yet?" Joe: "I am committed to you, but there is know sense in rushing into things. Plus we are too busy to get married right now.
Maybe we can plan to get engaged sometime down shithe! road". Girlfriend: "Why does everything have to be planed? Why can't you be spontaneous?" Joe: "Why does it matter when we get married? You should quit worrying about it". Girlfriend: "You never pay attention to my feelings you always do everything your own way, your never there for me. I'm starting to wonder if you even care about me.
Joe: "What do you mean I'm never there for you? I was there last night. Why would I not care about you I do everything that needs to be done and I pay all of shithe! bills. If I didn't care for you why would I tell you that I do". Girlfriend: "Do you even love me?" Joe: "I guess I love you.
You have all of shithe! qualities that I want in a girlfriend". Girlfriend: "I'm leaving! You don't even care about my feelings". Case #1 justification B At shithe! beginning Joe says that they are too busy too get married. This is because Joe is always working and doesn't have a lot of spare time.
When he says, maybe they can get engaged sometime down shithe! road there are two possible meaning. First of all he is putting off shithe! making a decision about getting married. Secondly, if he is going to get engaged he wants to plan it out ahead of time to stay organized. When his wife asks him why he is never spontaneous he avoids shithe! question and says that it is good to be organized.
This also hints that Joe not capable of doing things that he does not have planned. Joe's wife asks him why he is never there for her and he says he was there last night. His wife is talking about being there emotionally and he is talking about physically. Joe has a hard time recognizing his emotions and therefore can't understand shithe! emotions that his wife tries to express to him. Then again when his wife says he does not care about her he says that he does everything that he needs to do. Once again he changes shithe! subject off of his feelings.
He thinks she should believe that he cares about her because he says so, but he is unable to sense shithe! lack of emotional connection. Then at shithe! end of shithe! conversation Joe says he loves her because she has all of shithe! qualities that she wants in a girl. This shows Joe's attention to detail and his lack of bringing up how he feels. He can't come up with how he feels about her overall, but he knows that she has specific qualities that he wants. Case #2 Histrionic Personality Disorder a) Elaine's long lost friend from high-school asks her "I heard you " re finally engaged-what's your fiancee like?
And why do you think she's shithe! one?" Elaine: "My fiancee is just so wonderful and he is big and strong. I must just be shithe! luckiest woman in shithe! whole wide world. He has to be shithe! one for me because he reminds me of a prince charming. He is just so dreamy and he always tells me how pretty I am. Friend: "Where did you meat him?" Elaine: "I met him on vacation. He came up to me and told me how beautiful I was.
He swept me off my feet. I was just like a dream. It was love at first sight. Then he took me out on a boat like thingy on shithe! sea".
Friend: "What does he look like?" Elaine: "He looks like prince. He is just so perfect and he gets me everything I want. I'm so happy! I can't wait to get married and have a huge house.
Like a castle. Like that castle in shithe! fairy tail movies". Friend: "Did you here that Kara and Dave got married last month?" Elaine: "Get out of town! That amazing! Oh yea and when we get married were moving to shithe! beach. I just love shithe! beach; it's always so sunny.
Except I don't like those little crab like thingies their so icky and gross, but I still can't wait to get married. Friend: "Well I have to get going. I was good seeing you Elaine. Good luck with prince charming". Elaine: "I was just so great to see you! I'm so glade we got a chance catch up and have girl talk.
I can't believe how long it's been. Don't be a stranger O.K. girlfriend. Case #2 Justification A Elaine starts to explain what her fiancee is like in very broad terms. She never goes into any details about her fiancee because she only looks at shithe! broad picture. Also Elaine is way over dramatic in shithe! way she talk as well as her facial expressions.
She talks about how great her fianc " ee is to prove to her friend how lucky she is and to show that she can get shithe! guy of her dreams. Maybe this is a friend that she was envious of in high school and she is trying to get her approval. Elaine uses words that are not very sophisticated like thingy and icky. She seems to just want attention and doesn't care if she seems intelligent or not.
When her friend brings up something about one of her other friends getting married she is really dramatic for a few seconds, but then she starts talking about something else right away. She always wants to be shithe! center of attention and doesn't really seem to be genuinely interested in anybody else. It is also hard for Elaine to focus her attention on something for to long of a period.
