The Background The school owes its existence to a large hearted, philanthropist Seth Hans raj Morarji and his equally noble and generous wife Bai Kabibai alias Hiravahu. As the couple had no offspring, Bai Kabibai, on the advice of her close relations and well-wishers decided to form a trust with the money and the property bequeathed. The trust was formed in 1939 with the stipulation that it would set up a Public School, another school in their residence in the Fort area, some dispensaries and dharamshalas and one Sada varta (a free boarding / eating house). The Public School materialised in 1939. The school introduced the system of day boarders more than two decades ago.

The school has an enviable record. The foundation stone of the hostel block was laid by the then Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel. Almost all eminent personalities of yester-years like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. S. Radha krishnan, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. K.M. Mun shi, Shri Morarji Desai, Shri C. Rajgopalachari etc. have graced the school by their visits. Some of the alumni of the school are very well-placed in life and have earned great distinction in their own fields. The school can justly take pride in having Shri Viren Shah Governor of West Bengal & Managing Director, Mukand Iron, Shri Upend ra Patel, Proprietor and Managing Director, Dinesh Silk Mills, late Dr. S.J. Vaisya D.O.R.L., F. l. C.S., M.S. (BOM) an eminent plastic surgeon, Shri Dhi raj Chaw da, internationally reputed photographer and pioneer of colour photography in India. Shri Harish Bhi mani, T.V. and dubbing artiste, Mr. Ramesh Desai, Secretary General All India Lawn Tennis Association, Shri Nay an M. Patel industrialist, Dr. M.D. Desai-President All India Medical Practitioners Association and a host of other capable and eminent engineers, doctors, educationalists, industrialists, technocrats and businessmen among its past students.
