Situation example essay topic

Steve B. HermanssonHW # 8 Sophie was given the hardest question ever imaginable. How could someone ever be able to choose the fate of his or her own children? If I understood correctly she had two children one about 4 years old and the other about one year old. I think Sophie should have chosen the youngest to die, because she probably wouldn't have been able to survive through the death camp and would have made it harder for Sophie to survive. Were, as the older child would have had a greater probability to survive.

When the doctor was coming on to her she should have sacrificed her body so she was never put in that situation, but if she did it might have still happened. I'm trying to put myself in her situation and I'm far from getting there. There are so many conditions and factor that I don't know or have, but here's a shot. If I were in the same situation I would probably see if I could give my life so my children could be spared. I would have done anything to change the doctor's mind; weather it might have been sex or anything for that matter. If I still had to chose I would spare the youngest because she would probably not have as great of a chance to survive.

For anyone to be faced with such a question is ridicules. To think that there are people out there that enjoy making people suffer just to get a high from it is horrific. I hope I'm never put in to the situation that Sophie was in because I couldn't live with myself after seeing my children die and the fact that I couldn't help them.
