Should the parents of Australia be able to spank their children? It is ok to smack your child if he does something distasteful of disobeying like using foul language or have bad manners; really rude or just trying to discipline them in the right direction is ok in moderation. Pre-adolescents need more forceful guidance to make proper decisions and to earn respect that will help them with their adulthood. Adolescents have already learned and still learn about it in school. Otherwise they might run wild, although certain kids mature faster than others.

Make sure that you tell your kids what they did wrong. So you need to set your boundaries early to make sure that your child does not head in the wrong direction. If your children are not listening to you and you want their concentration you should smack the table and make a loud noise to get their attention if they still don't pay attention then a little slap is a must. You might be teaching them something that they will need later on in life or if their young something that will be of some relevance to the child's lifestyle. Some of the articles today say that only parents who feel better after slapping a child.

The act is only done in moment of anger, when the level of control is low and in danger of decreasing. Most people disagree with this because that they only think of what is best for child and to teach the child what right from wrong. Also a plan to punish parents who smack their children could be charged with a criminal offence. Back when the parents were children they used to get disciplined with a smack.

What would be so wrong with it today? The parents are just doing what their parents taught them. Physical punishment of children should be illegal because it often led to more severe forms of child abuse. What is abuse? If it does become a criminal offence to abuse your child how would the police find out if the child is to young to or threatens the child if the child speaks that the parent would hit them again. In conclusion pre-adolescents need the most guidance to set them up for their life, and especially if the young child does not respect your parenting skills just a little smack would be ok.
