Societies Culture example essay topic
Other people like to fallow other peoples values, morals, and how they carry out their responsibilities. All of these things effects the way an individual lives, and acts, for instance if people go to school to get an education and get a well paying job. Many people are going to do the same thing just to be in the same class and society, and make the money to have what everyone else has. The importance of education in today's world is very important in getting that job that pays exceptional well. In today's society people go to school get a good job and a few years after getting established they start a family. In the past people sometimes graduated highschool and starting a family was more important then getting that well paid job.
There are many benefits in having an social imagination. With the imagination people know how to live their lives, and know how to fit in to a group. They fit into a group to feel welcomed and not like an outsider Feeling part of a group also give a person self confidence in a lot of the things they do. With that confidence they can accomplish almost any task that comes in their way.
Many people in today's societies also like to take examples of other people and apply them to their lives to better them selves. In doing this they live their lives to the fullest and not wishing they had done something different. Sociological imagination is a very important step in the study of sociology because if the imagination is understood it is easier to understand how a society fits in together. Its sort of like a culture in a way but people adapt an social imagination not inherit it like a culture.
In today's societies there are redundant amount of cultures. Some ways to describe culture is a way a group of people live, or the way they act, live, communicate, dress, types of food. All of this ties together as being part of a culture. Mostly people of the same race, nationality live together or in the same community so it's not that hard to adapt to another persons style of living. People do this so that they can fit in easier and be part of a group so their social imagination is the same as another person. The study of sociology studies this aspect of a societies culture.
The study finds out how a culture fits in to the society and how the society revolves around the culture. It also looks at how different one culture is from another one, how different backgrounds makes an society different. If there was a basic building block to the study of sociology, culture would be it. Everything revolves around culture in a society. Culture hold so many traits, backgrounds, styles, everything that a society basis their way of life on. So if a societies culture is understood then that unlocks the door to understanding how a society works and how it functions.
Ethnocentric is another big step in the study of sociology. It gives a brief impression on different cultures. Sometimes its bad because its judgmental on others but it's also a quick understand on how that culture works and is. One way that I am judgmental is the way a person dresses. If I see a person wearing nice cloths all the time and always looks good then I think their rich or has money. If I see someone wearing worn beat up cloths then I assume that their not wealthy, dirty, and doesn't like to take care of them selves.
This judgment of others is bad because I know from experience. I wear nice cloths and try to look good all the time but I am not rich or that wealthy. I know kids from my high school who wear worn, beat up cloths that are really rich, and they wear those cloths because that's their style of living. It could be their culture in a sense but they are just being them selves.
With out the study of sociology many people wouldn't know where to begin in how to understand how a society works. The examining of how the culture works and functions helps us to get a feel of how the different cultures relate to each and every one's society. Through this study we get a whole new view on how the world is oriented on culture and how every society acts.
