Spouse And Being Incompatible With A Spouse example essay topic
In other instances, some couples get married solely to avoid the stigma of having a child outside of wedlock. However, instead of having successful marriages, these couples often seek divorce because they were never truly in love. Still, others marry in order to gain citizenship in a particular country. While in many cases an agreement has been made before getting married, in others, one party is unaware that he or she is being used to acquire citizenship.
Secondly, in addition to getting married for the wrong reasons, being abused by a spouse is another reason that can lead to the dissolution of marriage. For example, if one spouse repeatedly hits or beats the other, the abused party may not only file for divorce, but may also seek criminal action against the abuser. A husband or wife may also refuse to tolerate verbal abuse from his or her partner. For instance, if one party uses demeaning language, such as referring to the other as stupid or worthless, the end of the marriage may be inevitable. Another type of abuse may come in the form of alienation of affection. One spouse may withhold sex and affection from the other.
While a person may be able to tolerate short periods of time without displays of love and sexual interactions, excessively lengthy periods without loving, meaningful contact, may be unbearable. Therefore, the affected spouse may opt for separation. Finally, incompatibility is yet another factor that may lead to the breakdown of a marriage. Sometimes after two people get married, they realize that they have very little in common with each other. For example, the husband or wife thinks work is more important than family, while the other thinks that family is more important than work. Also, they may have had different ideas about the roles each would have after the wedding.
One party may have expected that only one spouse would be working, while the other became a homemaker. Moreover, one spouse may have expected that the other would do all of the household chores. In addition, there may be disagreements over how many children to have, or whether or not to have any children. While marriage is a goal for many of us, we must try to make sure that we get married for the right reasons. Avoiding problems that can lead to divorce, such as, incompatibility, abusive relationships, and opportunistic individuals, can help ensure a long and happy marital union. Even when things are not going as well as we had hoped, if we find spouses who are honest and loving, and who we are really in love with, we will have a much better chance at successful marriages.
